Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

Why don't we blame Damian Irvine? After all it happened under his watch where (in hindsight) there were obvious deficiencies upstairs. I won't though, the bloke gave his left nut and then some for the club and saved it from extinction on more than one occasion, we wouldn't even be arguing becuase we wouldnt f**king be here to argue.

The person to blame is Elk. He brought the guy in under his insistence and then blew the f**king whistle when the shit hit the fan. Flanno was a new coach with a hard job as it was as we had no f**king money and no boss.

People tend to forget the fine details. I don't believe they were cheating, just trying to get the upper hand on there supps program that was in place in every NRL club in the comp.

Yep end of argument.

We should count ourselves so lucky to have a coach like Flanno who has so much passion for the Club.

How many past coaches just saw their coaching appointment here as a fat pay packet and at the end of the day couldn't give a f**k about the Club.

Well where is Irvine now? He copped it and had to leave the club. Elkin is also no longer with us. Flanno was as much to do with it at those two or at best sandwiched in between them.

The NRL knew about the supps programs at all clubs, so long as it didn't cross the lines drawn out by WADA in conjunction with our own codes guidelines, there was nothing of concern . My point is, was this a failure at management level??... The progress of such technologies was the real blame imo, lines became blurred to which certain things were getting used that were not officially banned but at the least on the fringe of of, and f**kwits like Dank were exploiting the f**k out of it.

Flanno is not a scheming evil cheater, imo he was an inexperienced coach having his first full year at the helm in a place that didn't have any proper front office or the money to even have a decent gym FFS!! Hence the tiling job he did.

I have some sympathy for that view. Flanagan was inexperienced and probably overwhelmed. He probably knew other clubs were using supps and the lack of resources at the club meant we were behind the eight ball. The club was resources were wafer thin, the coach was inexperienced, the support staff didn't do their jobs well enough and Dank was allowed to operate without sufficient due diligence.

However, he was in charge of the football department when this happened. He also didn't take responsibility for it and continued to deflect to others even when sanctioned by the NRL. Sure he was ignorant but is ignorance a defense when the ramifications of this are still being felt. Virtually everyone else in the structure lost their jobs over this.

He seems like a decent bloke who does care about the club. If he can just add a little more the his repertoire than grind, we might just have a footy team here.....

I get where you are coming from but Flanno isn't a child. He has been around footy his whole life and coaching for a long time. Lack of management help can be blamed sure, but Flanno is as much to blame as the others that are no longer at the club IMO.

On Damien Irvine, I feel for the bloke and think he did a fantastic job, however I'd say it was his eagerness to be open, transparent and keen to seek out the truth that ultimately lead to our downfall.

Batten the hatches, delete emails, shred paper trails and deny everything, then ASADA probably treats us along the same lines as the other "maybe" clubs, eventuating in nothing.

For all those people in the keep Flanno camp, how many years do you renew his contract for?

I don't see anyone in the keep flanno camp entertaining a contract extension at the moment. Im just saying it would be geniused to sack him now. He should live or die on his performances. Last year was at least a pass mark, this year.... we'll have to see how it goes.

Are you serious?

Commit potential crimes? End up like Essendon?

How many of you actually voted when the current board got in?
I did.
I didnt vote pro Keogh either.
I was swayed by people in here bagging him out.
I'd vote him in now though...his board that is.

Like I said earlier in this thread
You want to blame someone for Flano getting a new gig
Then blame the fans and yourselves
Too lazy to vote ?
Then tough shit ...just cop it.
Live out of state ?
Tough shit there too.

I'll tell you one thing about Flano
When we marched down capt cook drive waving flags and shit trying to get the development
passed he was there walking with us.

Yeah he f**ked up on one thing
Bet my balls it wasn't on purpose too.

The bloke busted his arse to get this team together
He got banned for a year!
But came back to try and finish the job .

He's done more than 99% of us ever will or would.
Being a f**king hero on a forum and hanging shit on him from miles away while watching in tv is piss weak.

Nah I didn't run away, I just don't live on these forums.

Please explain how someone can accumulate 28579 posts?

He's built a good squad and this is his turn to see what he can do with it. I think you would gauge his results and direction of the club mid next year and take it from that. He's also got players at the end of their careers in the squad so he'll need to start the recruiting for them. His runs on the board are excellent in this department so far.

I get a laugh at all the people that consistently go off too early, his time is right now and next year. If he fails then he be gooorne like any other coach would be.

Oh and the biggest myth is that we are still a grinding football team with no offensive flair.

May have been in the past but not now.

The backs are certainly seeing the ball they just need to finish off the opportunities they are being presented with.

We've bombed lots of tries in most of our matches which is not good but you can allow it for the first month as players get into their groove.

But the opportunities are being created and by multiple playmakers.
