Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

I have said for years now that it would be a no name coach that bought us our first premiership, glad I was right, but I keep pinching myself, is this real, did we really win it. can't believe this feeling, how f**king good is it.

I didn't drink all weekend on purpose.
I want to remember it all.

I had 3 beers at about 1 am at home after the game .

Then had a couple last night after I got home from the fan day.

If we'd won it 20 years ago I would've been shitfaced in a pub hours before kick off .

I've whinged and moaned for years about our Flanno match plans and our static defence line which often backed back towards our own line. Our 5 one out hit ups and a kick.

I didn't like our dull and boring attack at times. Many times infact.

We now have our elusive Premiership so who gives a shit about my whinges.

Flannough put a squad together that was a mixture of vast experience, great mongrel and youth. It worked.

But in my entire time, I can't ever remember a season where everything has fallen into place for us. The only glitch was slipping out of 2nd possie. It was our time. If we didn't win it this year then I was going to be a worried man.

I am already not enthusiastic about backing it up again next year. A lot of the squad is even longer in the tooth and it was obvious that we missed a lot of our recruiting targets. Gal is being held together by elastoplast and we won't / can't rely on his leadership for another season.

But I will forever be silenced (well I will try anyway) in criticising The Flange

This bloke must be a clairvoyant.

I can't count the number of times we had a back do a niggling injury or game only injury while having a back on the bench.

I was critical of him early on along with others - but don't ever let this thread slip off the first page.

Ever.

Funny exactly the same for me. Normally I would be throwing beers down but I didn't want to miss a minute at the stadium waiting for beers. Came home with my wife and there were only 3 beers left so that's all I had! Enjoyed them over the replays on the NRL website and general discussion with the missus about the agony (then ecstasy) we had just endured. Bought a case and did my celebrating last night watching the replay.

Flanno has been learning and improving gradually since he took over in 2010. He's grown with the team, and he must know how to make them tick and how to keep them believing in themselves.

Funny stuff at the presso where Gal was having a go at him.

Quigs just in next year, I'm not worried anymore. I will go to all the games next year to enjoy the game, won't stress as the cherry is popped. On a side note I reckon we could go back to back. Wouldn't that be something.

I truly believed he could do it from the blokes he had recruited (good comradery) plus all else taken into consideration.

I just didn't think it would be 2016 I thought we would build to it. He got the prize hail Flanno finder of lost children and souls. A very good bloke at the helm of the team.

Flanno out-coached Craig Bellamy he totally deserved to be coach of the year.

I think he achieved a lot more than "his boss for a while" Ricky Stuart.

He outfoxed all the foxes.

That would be a yes.

On ASADA alone he shouldn't be within a suburb of Shark Park.

Flanno is recognised as a footy coach - but first grade is a stretch too far for his capabilities.

He has a damn fine side on paper that under many other coaches would be sitting top 4 at the moment.

We are reactive. Not proactive. He is incumbent man.
Round 1 he goes with 2nd rate selections and a losing style of play.

After getting molested for the first 4 rounds somebody instructs him to do what he should've done all along....
Pull Gal and Fifita into line on the park, play football and select the best players we have.

Those 3 elements ARE NOT Flanno. That is indisputable.

So whoever forced his hand...thank you (Lyall it would seem).

Last night - we won again. Fantatstic - it's what we're here for. But do we rest on that. Do we accept where we are OR do we want to be the best we can be.

We beat a side who has thrown the ball around all year and shown that is still the best plan for winning - but last night they had a nightmare.

They were coming to get us a few times but dropping the ball an unbelievable amount of times in scoring situations continually let us of the hook.

Our defence is improving.

The Bird selection has changed the side - in attack AND defence.
The fact numbnuts didn't go with this kid after the nines and had to be instructed to speaks volumes.

End of the day - if we keep winning I don't give a ff**k, but will we win anything under this guy.

No. we won't........

Everyone at the club now is an immortal in my eyes. There wouldn't be a person from Lyall down who didn't in some way contribute to the win I thought I'd NEVER see.

I still can't believe it.

Agree, although Beale might consider himself lucky!
