I like heighno at prop...allows us to have our full deck of impact back rowers, and heighno has been one of our best from that shift.

That would be a yes.

On ASADA alone he shouldn't be within a suburb of Shark Park.

Flanno is recognised as a footy coach - but first grade is a stretch too far for his capabilities.

He has a damn fine side on paper that under many other coaches would be sitting top 4 at the moment.

We are reactive. Not proactive. He is incumbent man.
Round 1 he goes with 2nd rate selections and a losing style of play.

After getting molested for the first 4 rounds somebody instructs him to do what he should've done all along....
Pull Gal and Fifita into line on the park, play football and select the best players we have.

Those 3 elements ARE NOT Flanno. That is indisputable.

So whoever forced his hand...thank you (Lyall it would seem).

Last night - we won again. Fantatstic - it's what we're here for. But do we rest on that. Do we accept where we are OR do we want to be the best we can be.

We beat a side who has thrown the ball around all year and shown that is still the best plan for winning - but last night they had a nightmare.

They were coming to get us a few times but dropping the ball an unbelievable amount of times in scoring situations continually let us of the hook.

Our defence is improving.

The Bird selection has changed the side - in attack AND defence.
The fact numbnuts didn't go with this kid after the nines and had to be instructed to speaks volumes.

End of the day - if we keep winning I don't give a ff**k, but will we win anything under this guy.

No. we won't........

That's not why he left Bird out.

We all know that.

Bird is only playing now because he was instructed to play him.

Flanno attempting to claim he was holding back Bird for starting between round 4 and 6 irks me. I think Bird played only at 5/8 aa Barba was banned and Wade cost us a game. Barba not banned or no intercept, Bird could still be in Reggies. Bird should have been in the centres instead of Beale. Beale is the new Toops. I often don't know if he is on the field or not. Have to visually scan the field to see his number. Unfortunately, that can be after 30 minutes. Waste of time.

Sorry but you'll need to supply some proof on this theory

Flano said publicly that bird had a hammy injury from a trial match and that was why he didn't play.

Either flano is lying or you or your source are.

Did Bird play at all in Rd 1?

I thought he was in NSW Cup.

If so, there's your answer, unless he was 1/2 injured & Flanno didn't want to risk him in the big time if not fully fit?

We could finish 1st and win the GF and Since73 would still be calling for Flannos head. I can see he's point on some things but come on we are playing great footy give Flanno some credit.

We really need to approach a top level coach and put a plan in place for them to become a legend.

The first coach to get us there, will be an instant legend.

Cannot see the prize coming with this bloke, he has some good, but really, is rather clueless IMO.

Hold the pil is a good message for under 20's.

Lol

s73's 'source'

Lol
Haha...that is funny.

Actually I do have a mate who works for the sharks.

Rarely see him, but everything he has told in the past me has been spot on.

I used to put a few things on here but not any more.

But certainly don't need a source to know the obvious - Flanno didn't pick Bird because he was injured.

It ain't f**kin rocket science.

Flanno is incumbent man.

Ayshford, Prior, beale, Brown. He buys first graders nobody else wants and lets developing stars like peachey, Townsend, Val and Bird rot in reggies.

Flanno has never won anything.

Gorman is successful. In business and in sport.

Lyall knows not much about footy I would say but he knows winners and he knows losers.

Ive heard him speak 3 times and every time he goes on about the nines in Auckland.

In his view he sees a team of young and old guys go to NZ and in the final they go up against the premiers and almost take the title.

Before that he sees us go up against the favourites - Warriors - and beat them in front of their own crowd. He also watches us beat the high flying Roosters.

So he is excited - what a year this is going to be - so much guts. So much talent. So much promise.

Then - come round 1 -he watches the coach send a team out minus the two best young stars from Auckland.

He must think...'That's odd".

We get beat. he watches it again in round 2 and the same in round 3 and then in round 4.

However, in round 4 he watches these two guys - especially Bird, who was given 10 - 15 minutes in the whole game, make an impact.

He also sees guys - who weren't in NZ overplaying their hand, like the captain. Or guys like Fifita running sideways, losing the ball, laughing about it and giving away penalties.

Okay he thinks - time to step in.

Before Round 5 he lets the world know we have a losing culture. That means we are conditioned.
Conditioned to think a CERTAIN WAY.
A way that does not and will not allow success.

He also lets us all know he spoke to the coach after round 4 for an hour.

The result...Bird starts and Val to fullback. Gallen plays straight up the middle, gets his hands off the ball playing duties and fifita is out of the 13.

Flanno is that far out of his depth it is frightening. He has the message from Lyall obviously - do it the right way - NOT your way.

If you didn't get it from page 1, watch the first minute of this:
