Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

Roosters were the best defensive team in the comp before playing us. Knights won 4 from 5 before playing us. Both sides top 4. They were both as real tests as Souths will be.

They didn't turn up because the Sharks didn't allow them to turn up.

I part agree with that, but the unforced errors and poor decision making was mostly their fault, not the pressure we provided (though that helped). Once we beat a side who are mentally prepared and spend significant, quality time on our line with repeat sets rolling over then I'll be convinced...

Well guess who made the call for bird to go 6?
It worked
All you blokes had every man and his dog there bar bird.

Brown was on a f**king wing
You merkins all screamed for Holmes to play fullback

Again
Make up your f**king minds

Again. Spare me. He threw Bird in there after Graham didn't work out for umpteenth time. Flanno logic attempted it again against all prior warnings.

The point about Brown highlights the fact that Flanno hasn't changed.

It took 4 losses and a suspension to Barba to get Bird off the bench and into the game in any position.

We are winning. Excellent. Love it.

But don't f**king excuse Flanno and his "it was always a plan" bullshit.

SS - don't use the truth. They hate it.

Don't bring up an illegal drug program on his watch.
Don't bring up players lives stuffed up as a result.
Don't bring up a 41% winning record.
Don't bring up picking the same over the hill buys every week and leaving our own young stars to rot in reggies. And then finally picking them because he was forced to because he could t win a friggin game.

Don't bring any of that up. That's logic.

You can mention how he got TC here because no other club would either touch him with a barge pole or pay what we would.
Also mention he is a great bloke and the players love him and most of them have a clause that says if Flanno goes they go.
Also mention what a great recruiter he is - how he managed to get Mitch brown and Beale and Ashford away from the clutches of Nick Politis.

Get on board with those stats - they're the ones that make sense.

I don't think anyone here is staunchly pro-Flanagan, especially in terms of his role in the doping program and the 3-year extension whilst suspended, nor his bench use or many of his selections. It's not a black and white set of opinions. However, death riding the guy for things done four seasons ago and for his being re-signed (he didn't offer himself a contract) is just bizarre.

He'd be in the bottom six coaches in the competition easily. Doesn't challenge Hasler or Bellamy on any day. Not a great coach at all, but wanting the team to fail so he can be sacked is Dragons logic. It may have taken some mis-steps again this year to get onto a formula which is starting to look competitive and that is entirely Flanno's fault, but I think the team format once it is settled will be strong. There are still huge issues with how to apply Barba and major problems with our halves and hooking depth which have been forced by injury. I'm optimistic after seeing our attacking and defensive formulations the last two weeks, but I don't rate either of the Roosters or Knights performances. We got off easy.

You gotta stop aggressively and bitterly focusing all your hate on Flanagan, it's obsessive. He f**ked up HUGE and should not be in charge of an NRL squad this year or the next or the one after, but he IS and he's contracted to do so. He's had some external input and he and the team have improved, I think it's annoying too that he couldn't see it for himself, but he sees it now...and I think that's a good thing. I'm glad we've got support staff who are influencing positive footballing decisions. I don't think that's grounds to try to stir up a lynch mob.

(For the record, Mitch Brown was a Noyce signing while Flanagan was suspended...Ayshford was a dud in a wooden spoon side and Beale is starting to show promise even though I'm not a fan at all. I also note that you didn't mention signings that are playing well either, so I at least enjoy the skewing of stats to suit your opinion.)

Just rolled star studded easts side, pasted newcarsehole with a completely new 1 6 and 9

I thought they'd take a little longer to gel actually.

With a tiny bit of luck we could have been sitting on 4 wins right now.

Didn't bird play too ?

Its a big call slotting a kid into 6 first hit out in an NRL game

I just don't believe that was the plan. To play Bird off the bench Vs Titans and then select him there Vs roosters.

He basically f**ked up with his "wade at 5/8" fascination and pretty much had a gun to his head.

His plan may well have been to ease him into first which is what any coach does

How many throw a kid with no NRL games straight into the 6 ?

Sometimes, you don't need a good coach to have a successful team, Ricky Stuart proved that with the Roosters in the early 2000's, and us in 2008. We had a good team then.

Look at Parra recently - shithouse team and they went terrible with Sticky at the helm.

If I remember correctly he did coach us to within 1 game of the 2013 Grand Final, a game that we nearly won against Manly (and probably would have won if Todd Carney wasn't out injured). Not forgetting into the 2012 Finals as well (again with an injured Todd Carney)

Same bloke right?

Who'd you pick ?
Not f**king bird that's for sure

Not Wade either.

I've stated I never thought Jack would make a 5/8 and I've been proven wrong in the process so far BUT I did mention when I told this joint he had signed with us we told him he would be in the backs and mentioned 5/8 as one of those positions.

So it's not like Flanno came up with this mastersroke idea like you flanno frothers are making out. It has always been the plan since he put pen to paper

Actually his best is Dally M winning form.

IS or WAS?

There is a big difference.

ET was once capable of pretty amazing stuff. So was Peach. Doesn't mean they would be good today.

I haven't seen anything for the past 2 years that suggests Barba will ever hit Dally M form again.

Do I want him to? Hell yes. But hope is all we have as there has been none of that from him in a long time.

Been nowhere near his best form. If he was 28/29 I would write him off. He's 25, looking much slimmer than the Broncs had him and looked better in attack in 60 minutes than Gordon has all year at fullback. I'll back him to break the magical 10 try barrier this year if he plays fullback or even shares it with Holmes and that should set him up well for next season.

Fanciful?

Get a grip
All I was commenting on was the hypocritical comments made by posters in here.
They whinge about Gordon being old or whatever
They say Barba is not a 5/8
They say the coach made up the bird injury
They even reckon he played in NSW cup that week

Yet when he does the exact thing they are crying for they'll change their story to suit an agenda.

I agree with that. I think you'll find I said none of those things.

And if Barba can get back to his best Holmes won't see the number 1 jersey much.

If Presto could get back to Dally M winning form he'd be good too. I'd like to see one game where Barba polls 3 points, just one, before I declare he is even close to a current Dally M level player.

Remember a week or two ago when toovey was the coach we needed?
About brad Arthur
Or the bloke from the roosters

The more I read in here the more I realise most of you have no idea about footy.

Again, I didn't call for any of those blokes. I understand that some people did, and I can't really blame them for being upset after the start we had, despite the fact that I don't really agree with them.

I fully agree and hope you are spot on. Would love to see Barba firing. I fully hope it happens in Shark colours, but i'm not convinced that it will just yet.

Um
Flano did come up with this master plan

Have I claimed it was a long term secret plan?
No I haven't
Nobody has

In fact I think bastard squad was one of the only blokes to suggest bird to 5/8
after the titans loss.
