Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

come on man...who was in charge...

I do not question the players love him....I love my mates too.

If he was drugging them they would have f**ked him off straight away

Cmon be realistic
He was coaching on an oily rag

f**kin Manly got away with using the same dude for 4 years or some shit.

Hard to win twice in row......even the spoon is.

Souths also had a weaker squad....THAN WHEN THEY CAME 1ST.

Right so weve established it comes down to strength of the squad, which equals dollars.

Luckily we had some to snare a good half for next year, I don't know who expected us to go from spoon to premiers in one year after losing our best half but it was quite an unrealistic expectation.

I don't think any of us expected to win the comp this year.. And people are right, most of us would have jumped at 6th at the beginning of the year.. However, we have beaten two of the top teams remaining twice this year. That tells me that we were in this thing with a chance. Yeah we didn't expect to get this far, but we did, and once again we failed big time. 39-0 in a finals match is embarrassing and was a waste of my time and money flying there to watch that shit.

If this club and the coach had any balls he would have let rip how disgraceful that performance was last night and how they let the fans, the staff and themselves down when they had gotten themselves in to a position to do better. Not been out celebrating finishing 6th.

The fact of the matter is we have a coach that with glaring gaps in our roster has got us to the semis in 2013 and 2015. He's not going to get sacked with that record.
the wrist slashers can get all hot and bothered, but nothing you say or do will ever change thing. He will be coach in 2016.
The best outcome maybe and that's a big maybe, someone maybe appointed as a coaching director. Perhaps a Tim Sheens or someone who can look at a bigger picture. Time will tell. Enjoy the off season.

My wrists be fine...but my head says forget the heart for yet another year minimum.

My hope is some other club poaches him...lol@ them.

The spoon is all Flannos doing. The 1m fine is all flannos doing. How anyone can atribute 2014 to anyone but flanno is beyond me.

Flanno will not lead us to a premiership. His coaching style is dire and he is afraid to make the calls that the team needs (see the ridiculous fullback on the bench garbage).

So, what should the club do when it decides Flanno's time is up?

It's easy to say 'Flanno 2, Madge 0' (for example), but I think we need someone to assist Lyall in executing cultural change. Souths had a culture of losing. Rusty started the change, Asotasi signing opened the doors, and Madge finished the job.

That's what we need. We have front office, personnel, now we need a coach witha backbone.

I don't think you guys are quite at the level Souths were. You have a decent roster with players who know what good culture is and ask for a certain standard. The issue clubs like Penrith, Dragons, Titans and Sharks have is their coaches lack that distinct edge to take them from a good team to a great team. I expect any NRL team to be able to beat any other team on a given day but it's getting them to do it week in week out and that's the coaches job. Preparation and leadership, both qualities which Flanagan lacks IMO.

Yup, finished about where I expected. Forget the wooden spoon last year. Injuries, drama and suspensions a-plenty.

He took a finals team and made the finals. No real surprises there and anyone who expected less wasn't giving our team (and yes coach) credit where it is due. So well done all involved.

However yes I want him gone. The bloke is a great man manager. Someone who develops players and improves skill-sets he isn't.

I 100% believe our team will play exactly the same next year even with the new halves pairing. Just like we played exactly the same with and without Carney. This theory of playing to Robbo's strengths is BS. Don't forget Barba was supposed to be in our halves this year and had a full off-season under the coaches nose to make it work.

Now what we need more than ever is a coach who can take young players and mould them into great players, not a coach he keeps looking for that 28+ year old who can keep the ship steady.

Flanno has never lost first week of the finals.

Vs Canberra 2012...?

Flanno is a good Coach and would be perfect to re-build a Club like the Tigers - he would take them from a rabble to Semi Finalists, of that I have no doubt.

He is not in my view a Premiership winning Coach that is capable of taking a Top 4 team to Premiership glory.

I have full expectations that we will make the Top 4 next season, but yet again will exit in either Week 2 or 3 of the Semi Finals. He does not have that killer instinct to really challenge the top sides.
