Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

It's been mentioned before but Flanno is now undisputed best coach in the club's history.

It's going to take a monumental effort for anyone to take that away from him.

spare a thought for 73 must have been bittersweet for him last night.
Nah

Decent guys like jc feej and cardy repudiated their earlier posts like real men
There is a stack of the "sack flanno" crowd who are gunna pretend their posts aren't there

And then there is s73 who lied, sulked and bolted like a little girl

Fckuck the coward

Above all else to me Flanno comes across a top shelf good bloke. The team love him and speak very highly of him.

compare this to the storm crew who all give the impression Bellamy and his bum chums are a overly serious mob. stories how he and Smith fell out in their first pre-season together before patching things up. And how Bellamy never got on with Maloney and thus he never got game time.

180 degrees to our mob where Maloney is loved.

Flanno's been around footy his whole life and as head coach will never sell himself as the master tactician - but his man management is 2nd to none. That's why we won. the team is happy and all on the same page. They all bought into what we have been doing for 50 years. Club, past players and supporters. Flanno was the bridge for that.

Bellamys greatest tool is his collective brains trust. He doesn't have to do everything. Smith and cronk and slater are basically part of a foursome who devise success.

Kevvy walters spoke of Smith running the Qld team this year (a concession big-head Mal would never make) and Ray warren spoke of Slaters incredible insight and real-time predictions from the commentary box this year when he appeared whilst injured.

Supercoaches like Gibbo and Bennett surround themselves with brains like Massey.

Flanno has reproduced this. Bringing players like Ennis and Maloney to the club - on top of their on field abilities he also got very smart football minds.

The next challenge for Flanagan is how he approaches rebuilding the squad. Does he try to keep the premiership window open for another season or two or does he refresh the team with a view to contending again in two or three seasons.

Ricky Stuart at Easts tried to keep the window open a season too long and paid the penalty when forced to rebuild and the results suffered.

Tough calls will have to be made managing the transition.

Would the guys who wanted Flanno sent on a permanent vacation ,please provide their names ,so we can cross examine them for lunacy potential.

I felt he should not have been re-signed following asada. The buck stops with the coach and he needed to be on top of it.

However, the club decided to keep him and they clearly made the right call.

Clubs need players like Carney, Fergo, Barba, Fifita.

They are superstars but can derail your campaign.
Clubs talk about no-dickhead policies, but it can leave you with a team without stars.

We need to source another Ennis.
Replacing him with Farrah wasn't the most exciting idea but I can see Flannos thinking. You're paying for what's between the ears as well.

Corey Parker? Obviously didn't want to retire as had a 2 year contract on the table one day and was retiring the next. As Hodges - he wanted to go around again, but Bennett is king of tapping guys on the shoulder when he wants to free up money to bring in new blood. He wants Ryan James and GI and Parker was in the way. Thaiday will be next.

Parker would have been good for us to replace Heighno. Offloads and smart.

But the trade off for keeping his mouth shut and retiring will be White's job in a couple years.

I was a massive critic. But I think about round 5 I jumped on board the Flanno train cause we weren't gonna do shit death riding the club. What a ducking time to be alive. Also this finals series Flanno evolved. He wasn't sticking to pre planned subs or minutes he felt the game and left players on if they were dominating and not tired and rested Gal at the right time etc. Flanno knew halftime would be long as f**k to recover so had our best props out there longer ect.

Blokes a genius.

Still didn't seem confident during the winning post match press conference though haha.

I always considered him a good man manager & recruitment officer - doubted his coaching ability.

Wanted him gone for the hurt he brought to the club with the ASADA stuff. Can't imagine why they resigned him when they did??

He has proven that he has all 3 attributes above - can certainly coach!

He is now folklore in the club's history books. Awesome effort where much higher profiles have failed before him for 50 goddam long years.

His bench rotation in the GF was timed to perfection.
Beale on the bench was also the right move.

The scrum move
Hahaha
Classic

Well done Sir Shane of the Shire

I have said for years now that it would be a no name coach that bought us our first premiership, glad I was right, but I keep pinching myself, is this real, did we really win it. can't believe this feeling, how f**king good is it.
