So how did the Tigers end up at Allianz? Playing there free?

No clue what their situation is, but they only play their part of the time. All I know is SFS wanted to bent us over and then take us again sideways. No doubt though once we were gone they started losing some money n basically halving their NRL club appearances in the stadium

Rumor is they are tring to lure us back now

Comfort, fine. Location, decent. Ability to see what's going on is shot.

I wouldn't care about the size if it was shaped like Lang.

Not Dogs territory? It's practically a perfect meeting point for the Tigers (based at Concord), us (Belmore) and Parramatta - we're arguably one of the closest teams to the ground. Hardly a valid argument against a team like South Sydney who have crossed over the city itself to use the ground when there's a perfectly good one in front of them.

You left your traditional turf. It's close, but it's still not your area historically. But that's much of a muchness. the Bulldogs draw more support from outside of the Canterbury-Bankstown region than they do from within. You yourself are an excellent example of that.

A very sizable portion of the Souths supporter base has shifted West as their original patch has been swallowed up by the gentrification of Eastern Sydney. Why not choose the stadium with superior accessibility? I used to work on the weekends at my school parking cars for events at the SFS and SCG, and once it hit more than 15,000, things got chaotic around the district. I lived on the Lower North Shore. I can't imagine how awful a trip down Parramatta Road would be. Until they fix up the infrastructure (light rail would be a start), the ANZ is going to Trump Allianz for accessibility.

ANZ gets criticism from everyone for being a terrible place to play home games and giving no home ground advantage blah blah blah, but odds are the two regular ANZ stadium tenants will finish 1st and 2nd with 2 of the best home records in the comp.

Maybe it's time to give ANZ a bit of credit, next to SFS it's the best stadium in Sydney when the crowd gets above 20k. The atmosphere is fantastic with decent crowds. We're trying to build the game to average 20k+ so ANZ has to be the cornerstone of the game in the years to come.

The stadium is a great place to watch footy, very comfortable with all the amenities you'd want. And Canterbury and South Sydney are showing it's also a great place to call home and play footy at.

So enough with the ANZ hate. Let's show the stadium some love.
Now you're an expert on this...fmd :sarcasm:

I really don't mind the bunnies and it's good to see them doing well, but and I mean this all due respect, bunniesman and other total cocksmoking bunnies fans just make me want to hate them.

Transport to the stadium is just pathetic.

I catch 1 bus and 2 trains to get there and I live in Bunnies heartland in South Sydney. We have a world class stadium that even from the city you need to take 2 trains to get to.

There's a gazillion parking spots within a 200m walk ffs. If you're a member, season parking pass = win. If not, it's only $20 per pop, car pool with some people - cheaper than public transport.

Allianz were never going to pay the Bunnies to be there.

They were a worthless rabble with some of the worst crowd averages in the comp at the time. Why would they want to pay them to play there.

ANZ was getting kickbacks from the govt. to lure teams because of the white elephant slating they were copping by all and sundry

I hate driving there too. Traffic is always a mess. It took 1 hour from the city today a long Parramatta Rd and that is on a Sunday. If it was a Friday or Monday night just forget about it. Traffic is the main is one of the reasons I try and do the right thing and catch public transport.

Imagine how many more people would have attended today's game if it was more accessible by public transport.

I agree parking there is not too bad subject to the Easter Show not being on.

Its Wests Tigers turf.

Its not your territory, and being THIRD closest also doesnt make it your territory.

So what went wrong last year when your guys finished 10th and the Bulldogs finished 9th? Or 2010 when you finished 9th and Canterbury 13th? Gees man, you're some sort of genius...

fmd, exaggerate much? We moved 13kms. Look at a map of the whole of Sydney. Redfern and Homebush are not that far apart.

There are a number of reasons why ANZ is better.

The fact that it is central is the biggest of many. It's stupid to be tucked away in a corner of Sydney in this day and age.

It's no coincedence that the closer to central (geographically) sydney teams, Dogs/Souths/Tigers have much better crowds than the outer teams like Manly/Easts/Cronulla/Penrith.

Jesus, Timmah, you getting kickbacks from anz stadium or sumpin?
It's my team's home ground. Am I not entitled to like it?

Couldn't agree more on public transport in the sense that if every Swans game there gets the treatment, the NRL should work something out too. Get direct services from Central involved.

As for driving, I haven't had any trouble in a few years - advice, enter from the Silverwater side. If you're coming from the city it would be arguably quicker to take the M2 or Vic Rd out toward Carlingford and drop down through Marsden.

If it's WT turf, why the f**k aren't your club playing there?
