ANZ stadium

BM you are an idiot. How you come to the conclusion that the quality of a stadium is directly proportionate to how well a team plays as that stadium is beyond me.

I agree with whoever said that this thread is just another way for you to rub our noses in how well souths are doing. I can’t wait until they fail, it is the only thing I am living for at the moment.

Wow. Paranoid much? What I'm saying applies because it's not a one off, it's not just about Souths doing well, it's Souths AND the Dogs. In the opening post I put no more emphasis on us doing well than I did on the Dogs doing well. It had nothing to do with "rubbing it in". You're the one who made it about that.

There's a gazillion parking spots within a 200m walk ffs. If you're a member, season parking pass = win. If not, it's only $20 per pop, car pool with some people - cheaper than public transport.

Wouldn't a true Souffs fan steal a car and dump it near the stadium and do the same to get home?

Any Sea Eagles fan should be hesitant to throw any stones at ANZ. Your ground is the worst in the league.

True, it's crap, but it is Brookie. Great atmosphere and a great place to watch the footy. It's also our traditional home ground.

They just need to do something about those nails sticking out of the seats, the playing surface, the merkins at Warringah Council...

ANZ gets criticism from everyone for being a terrible place to play home games and giving no home ground advantage blah blah blah, but odds are the two regular ANZ stadium tenants will finish 1st and 2nd with 2 of the best home records in the comp.

Maybe it's time to give ANZ a bit of credit, next to SFS it's the best stadium in Sydney when the crowd gets above 20k. The atmosphere is fantastic with decent crowds. We're trying to build the game to average 20k+ so ANZ has to be the cornerstone of the game in the years to come.

The stadium is a great place to watch footy, very comfortable with all the amenities you'd want. And Canterbury and South Sydney are showing it's also a great place to call home and play footy at.

So enough with the ANZ hate. Let's show the stadium some love.

Still need a telescope to see anything.

Its a dog of a place, the only reasons Souths play there is for the money.

That is the most deluded nonsensical drivel I've read anywhere for quite some time.

By this theory, does this mean the same venue was the worst in Australia in 2006 because it was the home ground for the wooden spooners (Souths)?

Do you sit down for hours thinking up the most dimwitted of ideas to post here, or are you genuinely that f**ked in the head that I should apologise for mocking someone who is so stupid he thinks intellect is a relative of insect because they kind of sound the same?

Please advise.

That last part is obviously the biggest problem.

The NIMBY WASPs on the council have no idea just how bad an impact on the area losing the club would be. F*ck 'em, time to move somewhere else for a bit. As long as we could break a 10k average on a good deal in one of the two big stadiums for a bit, they might learn their lesson.

Or Convert Brookvale Oval into a Dog Dressage course, whatever.

Edit: We might even outgrow it. There was a time in the 60's and 70's when we were consistently averaging around and over 15k. The supporter base is there, it's just a matter of getting the lapsed ones who've switched to Onion and Flogball back.

Money is a part of it but not the only benefit. It is so much better located than the SFS. It is close to public transport and in the geographic heart of the city
