Seeing as Meninga has signaled Boyd will play fullback over Slater and Leilua and Bird are in for their International debut, so barring injury and the same players kept from last year, the team would probably look like this:

1) Boyd
2) Ferguson
3) O'Neil
4) Leilua
5) Homes
6) Maloney
7) Cronk
8) Papali'i
9) Smith
10) Boyd
11) Cordner
12) Merrin
13) Gillet

14) Thaiday
15) Frizell
16) Klemmer
17) Bird

He was in the kiwi train on squad when it was 3 years residency,he never played for NZ,then he moved to the gold coast..And the rules changed to 5 years residency..SO HES NOT ELIGIBLE..

CRACK ON SON I'LL SCHOOL YOU!

He has NZ citizenship now. Was the reason why his move to the Titans took so long last year.He was waiting on his NZ citizenship before moving. So he's eligible for the Kiwis.

You need to go to a better school mate.

Maloney has to be the five eighth if Thurston is out. He is the best playmaker in the game behind Thurston and Cronk and has been in good form to start the year.

http://www.rlif.com/ignite_docs/20160920 RLIF Eligibility Rules - Final.pdf

“Residence” means the place or location in which a Player has his/her primary home for each of the preceding sixty (60) months immediately prior to playing an international match. Subsequent to establishing his/her initial residency eligibility the Player must in each year prior to the year of his/her selection for such country be resident in the country for a minimum of 210 days in the preceding 12 months to maintain his/her residency eligibility. For the avoidance of doubt the calculation of the sixty (60) months respectively shall commence from the day on which the player’s eligibility becomes active and cannot include any period forward of such eligibility date.

now in the case of hurrell it would have been 3 years,or 36 months....hurrell never played for NZ and has since left NZ,regardless of whether hes a legal citizen or not,he never cemented his "residency"by playing for the kiwis after that initial 3 years!

i should start charging for these lessons!

Lol dipshit. He's eligible for the Kiwis fullstop. He won't make the ANAC test side but he will make the Kiwis train on squad for the World Cup.

Citizenship supersedes residency.

He's been in nz for over 5 years... And he's a nz citizen now... So he can represent nz if he gets selected...

No he can't under the rlif's eligibility laws which spud has explained.
And I can't find anything online to prove he has nz citizenship, can anyone confirm he received it. All I can find is that he was a few months off gaining it and didn't want to leave nz in may of 2016, but then signed with Gold Coast a few weeks later.

He has to be in NZ for 5 year (or 3 if he done it then) and play for NZ at the end of that period....HE DIDN'T,HE LEFT NZ FOR THE GOLD COAST...HES NOT ELIGIBLE NOW,being a legal citizen means nothing! I'm giving you RLIF LAWS,I've been arguing this for 10 years, through 3 world cups, against clowns just like you....You're giving me what? Your opinion?..

Read the actual rules! A player has to have lived in the country for 5 years IMMEDIATELY before playing for the country....Hurrell LEFT NZ without playing a games for NZ...It's not rocket science lad...

Citizenship means nothing mate...Countless Aussies have got various European passports to get under the ESL quota,Willie mason, nsw & Aussie test player, famously, had a kiwi passport...Citizenship means nothing! Sam Burgess,Adrian Morley, jammer (i think) are Australian citizens, doesn't mean they instantly are eligible for Australia lol

Back to the Aussie side, the courier Mail will have to run a story one day soon, probably under craddock's column about qld only getting 8 or 9 of the test 17 even though we have won 10 of the last 11 series

The way Queensland clings to this inferiority complex and how they are hard done by is truly hilarious.

Does it just bug the sh!t out of everyone that the media is discussing ad nauseum possible Origin selections almost everyday. Even FB pages like The Grill Team are constantly speculating on the makeup of the NSW side. It makes me literally hate Origin..
