Hope Mateo doesnt end up like the Penguin post injury

He only tore his bicep, he should be back to his best with ease, if not, the injury can't be blamed lol. It's not as though he did his leg and it's going to cramp his running style, movement or pace.

The days of the big centre are gone, unless your in the same league as a Mal Meninga then if your big you'll be in the backrow not in the centres. Look at Jennings, he is the future of centres, great foot work, speed of the mark. Ben Smith has none of those and thats why it was tried to move him to the backrow but he is too soft for that.
maybe we can get the spag to make him an offer he can't refuse;-)

I'd be getting rid of Big Bad Benny ahead of INU, but honestly who in the hell would want him????

as i said in another thread yesterday,if inu leaves it will really be a poor move,if you can not see his ability there is a problem, all he needs is guidance by the coach and some early ball with space in front of him.

Of all of our juniors to leave, I am confident that Inu would be the one to bite us on the arse hardest.

while Inu may not be living up to his potential or price tag we can't afford to let someone go when we don't already have a similar or better replacement lined up. for Inu to leave we had better have a great alternative already signed, sealed and ready to be delivered.

An alternative for Inu? You mean someone who does nothing, doesn't break tackles, never makes line breaks, scores very few tries, rarely defends excellently, hardly passes the ball and costs us sh*tloads of money?

and yet we still don't appear to have anyone to replace him with.

re: what type of centre is right - there is no specific type. a good coach will utilise whatever a player has to its best. it may be good speed and footwork like jennings, it may be a big strong runner with and offload like sbw or it may be someone with freakish ball skills like jamie lyon.

it goes back to the basic concpet that you find what all of your players can do well as individuals and then devise a collective strategy to suit.

inu has an abundance of freakish talent. the club should persevere with him. he is one of the players that will play a big part in getting our next title if we keep him. if we lose him it will bite us in the rear like when willie tonga walked away.

I'd be upset if we lost Inu.....but it all depends on who we'd sign to replace him.

I do hope we persist with him though because I think he's still maturing and will come out the other side a much better player. It's obviously a mental thing with Krisnan. I'm confident he'll reward us in the long run.

DA is keeping an eye on mateos weight. lol
He made a bet with him that for every 100gms over 105kgs he is, it will cost him $100 per 100gms.
mateo weighed in last week at 103. haha.
good to see da has a sense of humor, sort of ...

Put Inu on the wing for f**k sake. he looks totall un comfortable as a centre. That is your problem parra, everytime you get a good player you HAVE to turn them into something else. Just use them where they are best suited.

When he turns 28 and starts playing extremely cautious football and passes the ball to someone else to run most times, THAT is when HJ will start supporting him.

A bit like trying to turn Jarrod Mullen into a halfback.....

Haha really? That's both interesting and cool. He weighed in at 104kg at the start of this year, but at his height that's not much of a problem.
