You obviously chose to ignore any St. George Illawarra games in 2016, even the ones against the Roosters.

Exhibit A) our game V Penrith @ the gong this year. The prosecution rests.

The thread title was so huge (it took me ages to write it out on my phone ... i normally post from my pc at home ... but i was out at the pub watching the game) so i left out the bit that mattered i guess. It really should have been the most boring top 4/ top 8 team in history. Talking about the shit Saints and Roosters played this year doesn't count.

Has anyone ever seen a more boring top 8 team ever ? Top 8 teams are usually good to watch, but this team scrapes the bottom of the barrel on every play. Slowing everything down with constant cheating niggle is boring as batshit.

In all seriousness boon, if you like free movement of the ball, lots of points, unstructured plays, and instinct over structure you should watch AFL.

No thanks. I'll just watch teams like Canberra and Penrith and hope one day the NRL is smart enough to change the rules to favour teams that play that way rather than Storms way.

Just watch SL, every game is like that. Not for the purists but entertaining most of the time. I like their free play after a mistake, players can get creative with no risk

Those stats just tell you that having a solid defence is much more important than being able to score mind blowing tries, as boring as it may be, that's what wins you premierships

I don't know where the Sharks stand in regards to defensive stats but they'd be right up there too

We were a bit of composure and experience (imo) away from beating both the storm and sharks so its not like entertaining play cant possibly win a premiership

But you do have to be half decent in the ruck. Thats just a fact

Remove the knock from the game would be the answer to your prayers

How is that so, Melbourne making the most tackles, aren't all the games they are involved in a slowed down wrestle fest

Melbourne complete their own sets in record time because of their drop and go touch football strategy. It means their are more sets per Storm game. They often lose the time in possession state which is weird for a team that wins.

Actually Melbourne have an average 52% possession. Which is one of the better ones

The knock-on?

I've thought about that and it would be pretty cool.

Yeah excuse my typing the knock on. Dropping the ball is a punishment in its own way and you would lose it a percentage of the time, only problem is deliberately dropping the forward would become a new tactic in many situations

Yet they made the most tackles, maybe they need a new wrestling coach, stats indicate they are not slowing the ruck anywhere near enough

This is way to advanced for league unlimited. But yep, totally.
Probably to solve the issue of teams deliberately knocking on - if you drop it best you can do is fall on it, not actually continue on, just regather and thats it. Whereas if the other side comes up with it then its their ball.
