his loss will be felt how exactly- he has done naught for the club in 2 years- either thru injury, or being selected out of position ...not saying he cant play but we haven't got anything out of him for a long time....or should I say ever??....
Mmmm hmmm

The Dragons forum a post strongly suggests he has signed with the Club. His loss will be felt unlike some of the other losses.

Yep, by a person called haynenation with his 18th post. By the way, the post says "dragons", so here's my take on it :

3 possibilities -
Catalans Dragons or
a post by someone attempting to jack up his client's asking price or
a plain old troll.....

Seems the playing group have had enough of a certain underperforming, arrogant bigmouth cocksmoker with a big nose who has too much say in the team

A bit distressing if true to hear how dysfunctional the team may be? The changes to the playing roster appear long overdue it this is the case.

Hell of a lot of chatter on the Saints forum that Moltzens' signing is a done deal. Is it's true then so be it, BUT when the hell are we gonna hear some confirmed signing at WT's for next season & beyond. All I read is who we are losing (some are no loss, some are a big loss...Fifita). Fair enough if there is a clean out but the cupboard will be bare the way things are going. I know I am stating the bleeding obvious but if we don't sign (or heaven forbid Sheens promotes) some backs that can actually run out of sight on a dark night then it's gonna be the "same old same old" next year. IMO we need a fullback, a winger, a centre & a halfback (Lui is not a halfback)...we will never know if the young backs we have running around in lower grades can cut it in first grade if we never give them a go. At least Simona showed a bit of mongrel when given his chance....if you are good enough, then you are old enough.

Moltzen is weak, he may have flashes of brilliance however they haven't been seen this year at all. Fair enough he missed an entire season but to be honest I think he is too small and weak to make a huge impact consistently. I know some smaller players go brilliantly however he has a regular tendency to shy away from contact. He plays that touch footy style and I'm not phased if he goes at all. We need some strength in the halves and at fullback , I'm sure at training he looks like a champion it just doesn't translate to the field and he can be very frustrating to watch as a result.

Yep

It's a bit of a worry when the only 2 blokes who defend aggressively were filling in after being brought up from the 20s. Obviously haven't been sheensafied yet....

Weak that's the main point about Tim and if he does leave well good for him . The only problem then is Benji will he sulk for the rest of the season.

Are you really supporters? The use of the word "weak" is highly offensive and reflects poorly on the two of you.

Your view on Marshall fails to demonstrate the respect due to one of the better rugby league players in the world.

FULLBACK Tim Moltzen is set to become the latest Wests Tigers player to leave the club after St George Illawarra targeted him as a potential replacement for Darius Boyd.
The Herald understands the Tigers will grant Moltzen a release from the final year of his contract, following the departures of Bryce Gibbs and Andrew Fifita to Cronulla.
With Chris Heighington and Beau Ryan being strongly linked with Penrith as a package deal, the development surrounding Moltzen will only increase the speculation that there is significant player discontent at the Tigers.
Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys said last night he had not released Moltzen. ''As far as I'm concerned, Tim is under contract with Wests Tigers for 2012,'' he said.
That said, Moltzen has been the subject of speculation before, having been linked with both South Sydney and Cronulla. It is believed the Tigers would not stand in Moltzen's way as they may baulk at re-signing him after 2012. The Dragons are understood to have offered Moltzen a three-year deal, giving him increased security, with their new 2012 coach, Steve Price, identifying him as a replacement for Boyd, who will join Wayne Bennett at Newcastle.
Moltzen has struggled to regain his best form after returning this year from a knee injury that ruled him out for the majority of last season. He was expected to stay with the Tigers following the departure of Wade McKinnon to Hull FC.
The anticipated loss of their other fullback option, Moltzen, will only increase the speculation that the Tigers are making a play for Canberra sensation Josh Dugan, even though Humphreys has repeatedly denied this. Moltzen's release may have further repercussions. He lives with Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall, who along with his teammates is known to be concerned at the club's decision to let incumbent players go.
Much of the movement at the club has been designed to accommodate Melbourne's New Zealand Test forward, Adam Blair, who will sign with the club. But there has clearly been significant peripheral damage; players are unhappy, and Heighington and Ryan are believed to be ready to join the Panthers next year as a result of the disharmony.
The Tigers have lost their past two matches and are in danger of slipping out of the top eight tonight with defeat against the Eels at Parramatta Stadium.
That said, they were boosted yesterday by the possible return of Marshall, who was not named in the squad due to a knee injury. The Kiwi captain trained yesterday but coach Tim Sheens will wait to see how he recovers this morning before deciding whether to play him.
Sheens was tight-lipped yesterday, saying: ''We're not going to play him if he's not ready to play. He wants to play … but I'm not going to put the team or him at risk by playing him if he's not 100 per cent.''
Captain Robbie Farah insisted the Tigers' ability to win did not rest on Marshall being fit, although he conceded the team's performance against the Bulldogs in round 16 had suffered as a result of the star five-eighth's absence.
''It would be a big boost for us if he played but we've been training as if Benji isn't playing,'' Farah said. ''Whenever you lose one of your playmakers, your combinations struggle and that's what happened against the Bulldogs. It would be good to have him alongside me as we like to control things between us. He definitely helps me.''
Eels coach Stephen Kearney said he was preparing as though Marshall would play.
The Tigers have been boosted by the return of centre Chris Lawrence and forward Todd Payten. Lawrence will play his first game since suffering a dislocated hip in round three.
''You've got to understand he's had more than a three-month lay-off so you're not just going to say 'score four tries, Chris','' Sheens said.
''It's physically, let alone psychologically, hard what he's going to go through.''

Permission to negotiate is a clear indication a release is a strong possibility?

Why would a club like the Dragons waste time if signing him was not possible?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Saints re-signed Bronx Goodwin and expect him and Nightingale to be the 2 in line for Boyd's fullback spot.

So Tim, look after yourself, get what you can now even though it may mean playing NSW Cup.
