Yeah but then it was only his 2nd game back so he probably lacked a bit of fitness for the middle. Anyhow did he start in the middle ? Not sure.
I know when he first came on Moeroa was defending on the right edge. After that it was hard to tell because we had all the ball.

We have a game plan and style. It isnt working. We are being starved of possesion and I feel teams have worked out our style.
You can't starve another team of possession, you can only do it to yourself. If you don't give the opposition repeat sets and complete your own sets you'll have enough possession.
BA must change things around. At times forwards are making good runs with no one pushing through. We keep going down the spread it on the 4th with the fullback wrap around to create extra men play. Every team has moved on from that as its predictable. Its still our pet play.
We need offloads, inside balls, forwards who pass before the line.
Agreed. But we have attacking forwards in the team able to do this, and when we have the ball they do.
T rex offered a bit of this diversity in attack and something Ram has been banging on about. Scott, Mannah,Alvaro all need to develop a short pass before line or offload. We need 2nd phase play.

Next is hooker. Since Peats left we are yet to adress the problem. There are well over 20 better hookers in the comp. I say 20 cause most teams 2nd options are better then Kaysa and King who are NSW cup standard.
Dummy half is only a position when you have the ball. In defence your hooker is just an undersized middle defender. Our hookers were solid last year but this year are suffering from too much time in defence.
BA may only need to make small changes to get us going. But the time is now.
We need to go back to giving our edge forwards early ball. We saw it work today when Williams trampled the Tigers' left side defence. Edwards and Ma'u have proven their ability in this area. Takairangi is well suited as well.

Waiting for Gary and Pou to offer there our luck will change bullshit.
Moses cant tackle so we need 20+ points a game to win. We need to turn our team into the 2003 panthers who would win by scoring 30 points..... Why BA is focussing on a grind when he has built this type of side if beyond me. We need to play some jungle ball.
Do you really think Arthur wants the team to grind? He just wants them to complete some sets and stop giving away penalties FFS!

Yes BA has great credentials and resume.
Look at 2017 results. Not to many impressive wins. I f**king told all of you we won a high percentage of one score games. And played storm without origin players.
Soft draw.
Every team played us without Origin players FFS.

What's the point of seeing out his contract though if we're not planning to extend it? Or do we just wait until September 2019 and see what happens?
If this year turned out to be a failure why would 2019 necessarily turn out the same way?

So are you saying that letting a coach see out his contract, but then not give him another contract, is not sacking the coach?
One bad year (or half of one) shouldn't be enough to sack a coach. 2019 is a chance for Arthur to build on this year.

Given our situation and lack of resources, 2017 was a massive success for our club. Whatever happens in 2018 doesn't make that irrelevant.

Of course they did.

Surely coaches never get sacked then, because they get their contract paid out. If your getting the full amount of your contract have you been sacked? You've received every cent of your contract terms.
But you weren't given the full duration agreed to to implement your plans.

So when do you think is the latest possible point for it to be fair for both the club and the coach to make a decison whether to resign the coach or not?
With about a year to run everyone will know that the coach will want to be planning for his future. He will be able to negotiate with other clubs (if any are willing) and his current club will likewise be able to look at options to replace him.

I think if you decide to go in a new direction then you need to move the current direction on. I can't see what you're proposing working out in reality.
The point is you can wait and see the direction the club is heading in the coach's final season before deciding to change directions.

So that's the end of this year. I'd be surprised if the club made a decision eitherway on the coaching future anytime this year. Although at some point the Leagues Club board will have to get sorted out, so who knows what will happen then.

If we miss the eight I don't think we should offer an extension. But likewise I don't think we should go out looking for a new coach for 2019 either.

I'd be looking to cut French, Hayne, Avua'aaaa'aaa, Norman, Scott, Ma'u, Mannah, King, Pritchard, Matagi, Vave.

Some of those will be off contract, so just let them go, but the rest I'd let know they are free to explore their options immediately.

If we don't make the 8 then BA's contract isn't renewed, either.

Bar French,Norman,Mannah,Mau the rest are off contract.

I thought Auuva did ok. T rex showed more in 15 mins then any of our other forwards have in a long time. Moses couldn't wait to feed him the ball. He caused headaches.

Pou we saw our 2nd rower like T rex get early ball when chasing points and game beyond us. Prior it was one up garbage.
Other teams are getting 40/20s and forcing line drop outs. Along with penalties and errors we are not helping I agree but why aren't our halves making these plays?
At times it is poor positional play by our fullbacks or defense for giving them time and space to execute.

3 games in a row we have had 40% or less possesion. Poor footy teams make errors, it isnt unlucky ones. Guys like W.Smith who we where forced to use st fullback is a great attacking player. He never has been good under high ball and why cut from previous club. BA had the right idea for him at hooker. He may also work in the halves, granted he is only 3rd or 4th choice fullback but he cost us big time yesterday.
