Armchair Coach/Selector time

Norman needs to be dropped. He has been partying all year and it's starting to be reported in the press. Many have known for months and have not done anything including Arthur. Every other coach with a set of kahunas would have "rested" him weeks ago.

Mau also needs a stint at Wenty. He has been shithouse this year.

And another thing if Mannah is Captain material I should be the PM. FFS, he is not a leader's arsehole.
Agree. You'd be a shit PM.

You'd have to ask Bernie. If it were me, halfway through next season approximately. Certainly not before next season

Fair enough, I'd probably agree with that time period. But isn't it likely that if we decided then to not extend it that we'd find someone before the season finished and end up sacking him before the end of the season anyway?

Not necessarily. BA can coach, I don't think anyone bar overly angry game day Avenger disagrees with that.

So why would you not give him the opportunity to turn it around? What if you sign a new coach in December for 2020 and BA stays for the season and wins the fking competition?

It seems to me most on here can't grasp the idea of contracts and think that players and coaches are full time employees..

I think players are different and players are signed for a period and it may or may not suit the player and/or the club to extend the contract.

I'd say in 99% of cases when a club signs a Head Coach that it is their intention that the coach will be there significantly longer than the initial contract and it would be their preference that if it all goes to plan that they're there for over a decade like Bennett and Bellamy were.

Yeah of course, but a coaches contract length is still the term of their employment, If the club decides not to renew the contract, they aren't sacking him, they just aren't offering him a new job now that the old one has finished.

I think if you decide to go in a new direction then you need to move the current direction on. I can't see what you're proposing working out in reality.

I doubt you'd find more than a very few people that wouldn't say that Nathan Brown wasnt sacked by the Dragons and Anthony Griffin wasnt sacked by the Broncos.
