Again it isn’t about soft runs versus hard runs. It is about key players and adjustment to the rules. The injury list tells you how hard this game is now. I honestly believe, apart from the Bulldogs, every side could at top strength make the 8.

Means they will be missing 3-4 players each game over the next 3-4 rounds.
Guess they will be selective so that they don’t have more than 1 per position, still means they will be weaker in both the squad and the pocket

Crazy how this is the only 'major' sport in the world where adjusting to the new rules is such a big part of success.

Perhaps because any other serious competition wouldn't introduce new rules that completely alter the fabric of the game with no consultation, halfway through the competition, on the back of one bloke who was a failed executive of another sport.

Never mind that the rule changes contribute to a much less watchable and less marketable product...

Good to see the progression of Tom Starling, definitely turning into a budget version of cook, will be good to see how he continues in the coming seasons.

Any of you lads see the end of the Doggies and Rooster match? Don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it so will keep it as vague as possible.

How would you feel if one of our players did that? Would you think of it positively or negatively?

No issue with it from me - although I think there's an added risk by doing that too. What if he rolled an ankle and lost possession so close to the try line. But I will conceed it's maybe not very sportsmanlike.. Probably should be something in the rules to not allow that if involuntary tackles are a thing.

I've been pissed off a lot more by other finishes. Origin 1 last year comes to mind.. Qld laying on us for the last 10-10 seconds and then the ref blowing the whistle 2 seconds early.

Yeah, I find it far more annoying when teams take a minute to get through three play the balls to finish off a match. Even when Newcastle do it, I find myself swearing at the tv.

I remember one of our junior sides did something similar by kicking the ball backwards except it didn't go dead and the opposition scored.
