Around the Grounds

Dolphins have been the forgotten team in this race for 8th.
They have as much to play for as Broncs and us and it’s more control in their hands playing both those teams. They just needed Dragons to lose 1, which they have, and to win both their games.

Wishful thinking, but I’m hoping Wayne had them primed to play Brisbane after Kev’s comments this week and being his ex club, but they struggle to get up for next week.

I doubt we beat the Dolphins if they play anything like that again. Broncos smashed us a few weeks ago.

Broncos were also full strength when they played us

I watched parts of the broncs game yesterday and I usually hate pointing the blame on a single player…..but having sailor at fb over Walsh was a huge part of why they lost

Sam Walker injury appears to have put the Roosters in neutral. IF SEASON ENDING the finals has become more open than the narrative will have us believe.

Not to get ahead of myself but if we win next week we will either play the Dogs or Cowboys, depends on who wins the game between those 2 teams this week.
This year we’ve been beaten soundly by the dogs twice and lost in golden point to the cows (in NQ).

I think we can take on both and get away with a win to be fair. Let's win against the Phins first though!!

Either is better than Manly. But we have to make it first of course.

I don’t expect us to win week 1 IF we make the finals, but we’d be significant underdogs if we make it which might give us a bit of an edge. Meh let’s worry about it in a couple of weeks if we actually make it…

So if we win, we'll be playing in this years finals.

The question is who will we play in week 1 of finals? Well it looks like it will be the winner of the Bulldogs and Cowboys.

So with that out of the way, who would you rather play in week 1 of finals? I think both are equally as challenging but I think I'd rather play the Dogs.

Cows, they're a bum side really. Dogs would defend anything we threw at them. Cowboys can't defend, so there'd be some hope we could outscore them because our defence is better than theirs.

Yeah a trip to Townsville is the far less appealing option. The Dogs have beaten us easily twice this year but they seem like a team that won’t find an extra gear come Finals time (neither do we tbh).

Interesting one, tbh I think I'd rather Townsville. Haven't been convinced with the Cowboys all year (we mostly outplayed them in Round 2 and then bottled it). If our attack did their part I'd back our defence over theirs.

The Dogs at least have their defence to hang their hat on and what would be a ferocious home crowd.

Lol it's the opposite mate. It just leaves it a 2 horse race instead of 3

Tbh I don’t think the Roosters were going to seriously challenge either of them even before the injuries. I don’t actually give them much less of a chance with the injuries as they have such a stacked roster with depth…but IMO their poor discipline and game awareness is usually exploited by the top 2.

Manly yeah if Turbo is fit and firing.

Dogs will win the first week but probably don't have the firepower to go with the big guns.

Sharks are the weakest top 4 team in a while.
