Ashes preparation???

How is bowling pies in the nets helping Smith/NSW? 😁

England's Ollie Robinson has emerged as an unlikely figure in Australia's Ashes preparation after bowling to his former Sussex team-mate Steven Smith in the New South Wales nets on Thursday.

Robinson has taken 21 wickets in seven Ashes Tests but has not featured for England since February 2024, falling out of favour after his body let him down in one match too many. He took 39 wickets at 24.74 for Sussex in the County Championship this year, but never appeared in serious contention for a Test recall and was also overlooked by England Lions.

Instead, he has signed for Sydney University for a stint in grade cricket and was seen bowling at NSW batters at the SCG on Thursday ahead of their Sheffield Shield game against Victoria. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Robinson bowled for "about 45 minutes" to batters including Smith and Sam Konstas, and later spoke at length to NSW coach Greg Shipperd.

I'd almost have nothing but newbies tbh. Maybe Head as captain and Green as a younger fella stay, WeatherBald too if he's in through the Ashes. Otherwise get 7 or 8 of the next fellas in there.

something we agree on, I bet our selectors dont

I'm guessing a couple of newbies at the most

we really need to look at other spinning options imo

It is good preparation for that 70 - 80 over point where they just bowl their part timers till they can get the new ball

"That thing" is the best since Bradman. And you're a below the average literacy level dribbler.
I wouldn’t know. I turned off Australian cricket the first time they made him captain. I told everyone I knew something horrible will happen when you place a f**kwitt as a captain. The f**kwit lead Australia to the biggest scandal in Australian cricket. You must be adjust as big a f**kwitt to compare him to Bradman. In-Australian plonker.

You must be as much as a f**kwitt as that thing is. Un-Australian to bring up Bradman’s name in vein. merkin.

I only ever bring up Bradman's name in artery tbh.

And only real low breeds use the term un-Australian unironically.

Come back when you've got something worthwhile to add

The trolls on here are getting exponentially worse.
Why is this the go to for so many people on here when confronted with an opposing viewpoint?

Sounds like you never started,
After this post I googled the name. Not sure not knowing a failed English test cricketer who’s played T20I is some kind of qualifier but okay.

First game I properly watched was Steve Waugh’s last test match.

Elaborate please.

Why do you feel the need to attempt to throw around insults on the internet whenever you come across a different opinion to yours?

Oh I'm barely even attempting, sweetie.

Besides, need I remind you of your own trolling in many threads because you can't handle anything other than your own opinion?

Once again, come back when you've got something of value to add
