I make the habit of never putting my-self first. I put everyone but me first.
You shouldn't always put others first, there's a difference between being selfish and doing things for you that make you happy now and then. You have to find a balance, you can't please everyone all the time, it's draining and it will stop you from living a completely fulfilling life. Be honest about what you want and hope to achieve with the ones you love and they will want your success and happy. How would you feel if someone you loved was always putting others first and as a result was unhappy?

Often leads to unhappiness but worth it if it makes people feel better.

If it was worth it, it wouldn't make you unhappy.

I have decided I don't care about his small hands, they're not that small and he's so damn good looking and smart and good to talk to.

No idea.

Also why is it that the usual suspect when it comes to dating doesn't cut it anymore? Seems you have to come up with something out of the box. Seems taking her to the Drive In or a restaurant doesn't cut is as it use to. Maybe a leaf out of Wal Footrot's book. Take her to the pie cart.

I find it hard to believe a man of your stature is still single Ian.

IanG, I'd suggest moving into this millennium and not taking her to the Drive In.

Maybe I like a bit of old school fun. And want to experience it as much as possible before they all disappear forever

Just the way things have panned out. Still wish I did end up in Adelaide back in 2006

Adelaide didn't feel the same way eh?

I never got over there. :( Tyranny of distance got the better of her more than it did me. Everything about her felt right. She was everything I'd want in a lady. You always still feel as though you'll never find another one like her.

the woe is me attitude around is why half of you clowns are single.
Who would want to date someone who's hung up on the past?

I reckon this thread should be renamed the "forever alone" thread - do you concur?

Nice fella though, very strange socially.

Yep. He's autistic. Good kid. In small doses.

My favourite was always "hey Dani, remember when *insert bad experience*"
