Or just get pregnant! Worked for at least an additional six months with two separate relationships in my hometowns.

Bastards = love!

I knocked my wife up at 18 after knowing her for just a few months.

She got lucky IMO

What's with all the woman bashing in here?! I can be a psycho, but it's when I'm lied to, when he tries to say that I said things that I didn't say just to get himself off the hook and again- LYING. Lying by omission counts. My husband seemed to be learning that, and for a while, we were blissful. Why is it the mans instant reaction to f***ing lie? Even if it's something so dumb that there's no real point to lie about it?
Not sure about lying but we do tend to look for excuses, Ill give you that

Its often because women tend to over react to everything in my experience, often reading way too much into whats being said or actions that are taken.

Often its just less painful to keep shit to yourself rather than risk the inevitable questions about why

And then when we find out anyway? It's 10x worse. I'm not one to overreact when I'm being told the truth. I much prefer to be completely in the loop. It's what he still doesn't understand.

Last thing I wanna do.

It's been 4.5yrs, you would hope there isn't still previous r/ship baggage.

It may be how he was conditioned to respond if she was a nutbar (I believe that's the technical term for it)

That makes you the exception rather than the rule, sadly.

Well it's a real shame to ruin a perfectly good relationship with a normal person because you've been conditioned to lie about everything. Nothing irritates me more than f***ing liars.

Well you are a gem Alba. Some women know how to push the guilt on us men for making mistakes, no matter how small they are.

I guess it comes down to expectations from both parties and how understanding they are of each others shortcomings. I know it took a while for my Mrs and I to learn when give or take is required.

Men are stubborn and slow learners sometimes, especially relationship stuff

I don't know about everyone else but I tend to over react when thing are hidden from me or im lied to, both of which are completely reasonable. You said it yourself, you look for excuses, be honest at the start. Less stewing time later on for that significant other...

Edit - what Alba said. Great minds eh?

Relationships can do strange things to people.

Ask him wtf his problem is and why he does it.

Expect a, I don't know, type response though ;-)
