I couldn't agree more with all of this. I made a comment about Feeney's speed (lack of) and athleticism last season and was nearly stoned to death. I still can't see anything different to what he produced in a few games in firsts last year. Maybe he's put a bit of size on, but that's about it.

I'm not sure why some keep referring to 'wrist slashing' and 'razors' in here. We all know what the 9's is about and none of us would be deriding the season ahead because of Feeney and a few other poor performers. Well, not yet anyway.

Chill out a bit gents.
You got panned pretty much cause you said he was slow, which he certainly isn't

Unfortunately he just lacks pretty much everything else to be a good FGer. Vision, toughness, smarts, all lacking. He is one of those guys who carves park footballers up in reggies but just isn't up to firsts

His window to prove otherwise has closed

Oh and there were plenty in here willing to write off 2017 based on that Broncos game. Just look at Pledges a couple before your own

I haven't watched the 9's as I've been working but I don't see the point in reading into it too much. It's basically just a fans weekend with some long range tries thrown in for the highlights reel. We're obviously not the worst team at the 9's given we've at least won a game but I doubt the fans of those other teams who lost both their games are losing their minds over it.

Also I think if we just go into the 2017 season with a sense of humour and extremely low expectations then it won't be so bad.

I'm yet to witness this speed you talk of. Maybe tomorrow's game will provide something.

I took Pledge's comment as a bit of tongue in cheek. You should as well. Im sure he'll watch our games this year. Anyone else in here wielding razors and slitting wrists???

Pearsall is even worse than Feeney.

Feeney looks like he sorta understands what he should be doing, he just can never make it work. The game is too fast for him at NRL level.

If we get a full season out of Ponga, Levi and Lamb in 2018, we might surprise. If we are relying on backups, we will fall apart quick.

Having said that, 2017 is going to be fun in a perverse sort of way. We will be underdogs every game, probably lose almost every one, but we will see some big improvements.

Precise summary of Feeney's downfall. He looks like he's barely keeping up with what's going on in the game both in attack and D

From what I've seen, Feeney looks reasonably fast over 60 in a straight line. He has no explosiveness though.

He'll never be a bona fide first grader.

Did anyone watch the trial match today and is willing to give us a summary? Apparently, Pythian had a MOTM performance at fullback.

Well shit. Just lost to Storm 20-10 so we're done for the tournament.
Looked like we had no energy in this game. No show and go, no quick running, just passing it out hoping to find an overlap.
Disappointing but oh well.

I agree about generally not reading to much into 9s but anything that is positive after last year would have been good. Making quarters/semis could have been a good confidence boost for youngsters like Lamb

Levi needs to get better with decision making under pressure. He can't always choose the selfish glory option. Last play with 1 min on the clock and with us needing a try to draw level he goes down a 10 metre short side instead of giving it to the long side where all our players were set up for a play..

Overall I wouldn't read too much into this tournament. There were some good signs from a few players and no injuries, so I'm happy.

No injuries is the big up side, we don't need anymore disruptions to our pre-season, hopefully the boys got some confidence in one way or another from the 9's

He was electric in each of the cowboys games.

Here is hoping he doesn't have a change of heart mid way through 2017 and ask for a release from the deal.
