The idea that Fittler would have been taking ElephantJuice all last year and his late emergence is to have a physical edge over his competition is laughable. :lol:Hopefully common sense prevails.

That rule is there to stop olympic athletes from getting around drug testing. As they could claim theyve retired so they dont get drug tested, then dope all the way up to a few weeks before a big competion, then suddenly declare themselves available once its out of there system.

Better he just doesn't play...

Whilst I agree re Freddie, it wouldn't be the first time ie Lyle Alzado

As with most doping rules there is no room for grey and no room for exceptions.

I reckon the clubs have missed an opportunity here, these jerseys should have been made as cheap as possible without being tacky and marketed at under $100. There's a lot of novelty value to them but at the usual $160 price tag it'll put off those who can't afford them and the club member who would most likely prioritise an NRL jersey over a Nines jersey.

Why is the Auckland 9s bothering itself with being a signatory to WADA/ASADA anyway? Its a bloody 2 day gala comp run outside of any professional sporting competition.

i'm actually getting excited by the nines. at first i was meh, but now after reading some of the players being mentioned as possibly playing for their clubs it could be quite an exciting tournament. take someone like soward, he's a little merkin but i think he'll actually destroy teams at the nines if he plays. If hayne or barba play imagine what they could do given the amount of space and room. its a shame RTS wont be available as he'd destroy so many teams with his f**king footwork

Just interested when the nines squads will be released for the tournament. Have any of the squads been announced and when is the cut off date for announcements?

Im interested in the player number system they will use.

Its the perfect oppoirtunity to trial and NFL style system of giving a player the same number every game they play for as long as they are at that club.

The main competition is too set in its ways for something like that to be trialed, but this new concept competition is the perfect place for something like this.

Didn't super league run with this concept? If so, NO. It is an once only, at this stage.

Well, the players will be wearing the same number the whole weekend.

You're refusing to entertain an idea purely because it was a Super League one?

From memory weren't the video ref, one-on-one strip, the zero tackle all Super League ideas?

The NFL numbering system is still based on the players primary position, yes the players usually keep their number when they change position. It is possible for a player who changes position in their career to have to change numbers.

Its a stupid idea that never really worked in Rugby League.

I was commenting more on the fact that maggie won't consider an idea because it was used in Super League.
