Theres only a rivalry between Tonga and Samoa, not NZ and Tonga. One goes back centuries, the other just a blip from last year.

Same question was asked on TRL. I think the response was the early 70s. A loss to GB followed by a loss to France IIRC.

Australia lost two consecutive Tests v France in the November of 1978.

A series win for France.

Whoops missed the different nations component !

In that case, the 1970 World Cup would be the last occasion Australia lost two tests consecutively against different opposition. Great Britain and France as you mentioned.

Seen a load of houses in Liverpool/Fairfield with loads of Tongan flags. A good number flying both Tongan and Aussie flags which is a nice touch.

When Tonga played Samoa we arrived in Hamilton early and for hours on end the main road through Hamilton city centre was a stream of cars flying the Tongan flag, the Samoan flag or both.
