NRL clubs have now unanimously rubber stamped the ARLC’s decision. A huge thank you Australia. Well done.
All 16 NRL clubs have withdrawn support for the World Cup…..
I think our isolation from the world in our safe little bubble called Australia has altered our view on living. This decision is ill-conceived and if not based on money as the NRL claims, (I think it is), then it seems based on fear.
We can’t keep going on being scared of our own shadows. Some in this country have already lost a year of their lives under restrictions or lockdown.
When are we going to stand up and say f**k this, this is not living?
I hope the WC goes ahead without us and is a financial success that produces some great entertainment.

When my kids ask in the future why we didn’t compete in ‘21 the answer will be because the game’s leaders in Australia were greedy chicken shits.

Haha, I'm the complete opposite, he made a commitment to NZ and then jumped ship on the eve of a tournament. That's a dog act.

He's Judas to me, I hope they revoke his NZ passport and he's never allowed to set foot in NZ again. 🤣
Yup. You and I are complete opposites, I'm glad to say.

If the NZRL don't sent a team to the RLWC after signing an agreement to take part the British Government will no doubt sue them for lost revenue in the RLWC still goes ahead, but I'm sure the NRL clubs and the ARLC will pay the fine for them, LOL

The diggers who died at Gallipoli must be turning in their graves at this cowardly act. Just so unaustralian.

This would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. The equivalent of saying disband FIFA so the Premier League can run world soccer. Only an NRL employee could make such a patently absurd suggestion with a straight face - at least the REAL agenda is writ large in his every tweet.

Shame on the NRL and shame on its players and supporters for accepting this disgrace with such listlessness.

I’m a fan of Gould but couldn’t agree less with this..

It’s the equivalent of suggesting the BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) should run all of world cricket…

It’s a ridiculous suggestion, and one that smacks of a power trip.

Don’t blame the NRL players nor the supporters.
The large majority are in support of the WC going ahead and wanted to participate.
Agree about Gould’s comments though…the man is a f**khead who most NRL fans cannot stand.

Then let's hear from them then. Where is the joint statement from the Kangaroos players? The Kiwis? The PI nations players? Bar the odd one or two - silence.

Where are they? Where are the fans cancelling memberships? Where are the boycotts?

It's very easy to be a mildly disgruntled passenger, they need to be more active. We've seen that first hand in England with the European Super League reaction and there was a LOT more cash at stake there - if they care then show it.

A number of current Kangaroos came out and tried to influence the decision by saying they’d go. The RLPA have been whinging pretty well and have stated they disagree with the decision.
What do you want boycotted? the NRL season?
What memberships do you want cancelled? Clubs?
It may shock you to learn this, but Aussies aren’t big on activism.
