Don’t let India flog you in this. It’d accelerate their preference for T20 over everything else and that’s ruining the game.

OK, we'll tease them by letting them have the first couple, then come home like we did in the WC

Doesn't it make it farcical the sides both teams are trotting out why on earth this was scheduled in the first place.

It really is beyond a joke.

Getting those 2020 Munster vibes. Predicting Head to get player of the series whilst never fully sobering up.

The side will be led by Matthew Wade although Marsh, who captained them to a 3-0 victory against South Africa in September, is the favourite for the role on a permanent basis.

There will also be a stand-in coach for the series with Andre Borovec taking charge as Andrew McDonald returns home ahead of the summer.

The series gets underway in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.

Australia's T20I squad Matthew Wade (capt), Travis Head, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Matt Short, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, Jason Behrendorff, Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, Kane Richardson, Adam Zampa, Tanveer Sangha

Yet we travel to countries like Bangladesh & Sri Lanka twice a decade.

And find any little excuse not to bother.

Meh. Why should we? If playing is going to help them develop then sure but Bangladesh have been hilarious minnows their whole existence whose board basically pick their family members and mates, and Sri Lanka were top tier but they're so corrupt now they've been booted for it...

Not really If you look deeper

Theory:
We expect India to do something like this (organise t20 series 5 days after a WC)
Keep the cricket high going after winning the World Cup

Now, how did Australia get to be the opponent?

I believe this series was organised couple of months ago, locked in early part of the WC the very latest.

Who was thinking early on we make semis, let alone the final, let alone win the fu*king WC??

Not CA I bet

So opportunity strikes to make some coin, since we would be well rested not featuring in the finals

Realistically the only countries that can host the 50 over world cup on their own are England, Australia, India and maybe South Africa. So its going to be rotated through those 4 countries, I don't mind it being cohosted by India and Bangladesh in 2031, I'd assume we'll host in 2035 (the year of the raiders 11th consecutive premiership).
