Australia V. Sri Lanka: 1st ODI

Seriously the new guy is a chucker, i noticed it when he was playing in NZ and the commentators said it was 'unique'. The guy was called for chucking in 2001/2 and has spent the whole time since the re-modelling his action.

How is he playing? Shouldn't the ICC do something?

How can the ICC do anything when there is a bloke in his team who chucks even more than him and they have turned a blind eye and changed the rules to accomodate him?

I'll have to have a look again. When I first saw him I thought chucker, but then watching the replays in New Zealand it looked not too bad (particularly in comparison to Muttiah "Joe Montana" Murilitharan).

is an umpire allowed to call no-ball nowadays for chucking?
or is it just repoted by the match referee at the end of the game ?

Technically the square leg umpire can call the no-ball as it happens, but it will never happen these days after the Murali sagger of years gone by. They just follow the procees you mentioned

either umpire can call it - Murali was called from the bowlers end by Darrell Hair.

But I cant wait for Murali to come on the hear the crowd call 'no ball'

Yes but he should never have been called from the bowlers end. The ump shouldnt have been looking at the front foot.

How can they call it, he'll come back and say where's your protractor, I was throwing at 14.6 degrees and then Fattytunga will come out and escort the Lankans from the team.

Bit of an ugly heave ho there from Ponting. Perera's 'bowling' far differently than he did in NZ, he was bowling very wide of off stump, must have been a deliberate ploy and I guess it worked.
