WTF happened there? Why didn't Fernando appeal more, he looked like he touched it to me and Martyn would have been out for a diamond duck.

either umpire can call it - Murali was called from the bowlers end by Darrell Hair.

But I cant wait for Murali to come on the hear the crowd call 'no ball'

i'm sure the ICC have encouraged umpires not to call no ball and instead just report them

if he did touch it, he probably didnt see the batsman out of his crease when the stumps broke, hence he didnt appeal hard. The mid-off, mid-on and cover fieldsman should have been doing the loud appealing imo.

How can they call it, he'll come back and say where's your protractor, I was throwing at 14.6 degrees and then Fattytunga will come out and escort the Lankans from the team.

Bit of an ugly heave ho there from Ponting. Perera's 'bowling' far differently than he did in NZ, he was bowling very wide of off stump, must have been a deliberate ploy and I guess it worked.

The umpire can just say "I beleive you were bending the arm greater than 15 degrees" and the ump is within his rights to do that. But it is very unlikely due to the pressure this would place on the ump and the scrutiny he would be under so they tend to just refer it to the match referee at the completion of the match.

Have you seen Murali NOT get an LBW? He gives the umpire the tea-cup look and the evil Chucky look from hell.

Imagine if he got called for chucking agin.

The fact that Perera is playing international cricket is really ridiculous. He got reported in England in 2002 (as mentioned), and if he's improved his action then I certainly can't see it. That bouncer he just bowled looked particularly bad.

Martyn out off a no ball. Vaas had a couple of no ball problems in NZ as well, shouldn't be happening for a bowler of his experience.

What a blunder by Vaas.

As salivor said he c0cked up with them a few times in NZ, notably getting Nathan Astle on one but he was obviously called.

See, this is why Nicholas is an ordinary commentator "Remarkable timing from Martyn", correction Nicholas he was fooled by a slower ball and had played too early if anything.
