Clarke has been in fine test form, its in the one dayers and 20/20 he's been woeful (captain wise anyway).

Not surprising to see him fail in these circumstances though. He's never made a score when the chips are down.

No, if he wasn't fully fit with his back then he should have ruled himself out. Only he can know how much his back is hurting him and nobody else especially if he's giving no outward signs to tell/show them otherwise. If he went in with something more than just a niggle and still didn't decide to rule himself out then it was a selfish decision which could cost the team dearly.

But if our vice captain and supposed future captain tells the selectors he's fit and ready to go then what are they meant to do? Say nah we don't believe you? Don't get me wrong, i think the selectors are brain dead halfwits as much as the next person but they can hardly rule someone out if in fact he did say he was fully fit and ready to go. Anyway he's in now so lets hope it doesn't cause the team any more damage.
