not the only person, Heally said the same thing in the tea break when they showed all his shots

maybe he could have hurt his back while he was out there, only Clarkey would know

tru, the radio commentators reckon he looked very stiff and still injured..

Hussey is batting like a guy with nothing to lose - ie. stop f**king around, just get out there and hit the ball. It makes a nice change from the scratching around crap he's dished up for the last 2 or 3 years. Much more like how he goes about his one dayers where he hasn't suffered the same form slump.

Still want him gone, but we'll get rid of North first.

Wow some people seem really pissed off that players they don't rate are performing...

Siddle and Hussey have done very well, hopefully Siddle has learnt that he doesn't need to be an agro idiot bowling half trackers.

North and Johnson still need to be euthanised

Test match in the balance imo

We really need Hussey and Haddin to continue batting well into the first session tomorrow on day 3. Hopefully Notch can blast a quickfire 30-40 or more when he comes in, I think he can do something special, and the tail add a bit also. Ideally 360 plus would be real nice. 410 plus would be ideal

Cheers

I'm not pissed they're performing. I'm pissed that they haven't performed for a long time, but haven't been dropped for it long after it was deserved. When they finally do perform like test cricketers is not a vindication of the selector's patience. We're supposed now to just forget about losing the Ashes in 09, or in India this year, or all of these player's lack of contribution when we conned ourselves that beating the Windies and Pakis and Kiwis was some indication of strength? If Hussey had been batting like this for the last 3 years no one would have been happier than me. If Siddle's performance yesterday was simply a continuation of how he was bowling before he got injured I'd be happy to have him back and firing.

I'm pissed not because they are performing in this test, but because going on their records we'll have to suffer a lot of mediocre performances in future matches. I hope they continue to prove me wrong, but they didn't deserve the chance to do so in this test.

Yes that sums it up.

I'm pleased to see Siddle and Hussey doing well but time will tell if it's just another one-off.

If Hussey was to rediscover his old form, well, we'd be damn hard to beat again on that alone. You know, other than the fact that Johnson should NOT be there.

The Steve Waugh era has indulged some fans sense of entitlement causing unreasonable expectations.

What you feel now - is what the Windies fans went through in the mid 90's. You guys just now need to get with reality. Batsman averaging 50+ - rare as hens teeth in the history of cricket. Sure SL and IND have several atm, but they are not the norm. Bowlers like Macgill, McGrath and Warne are not produced every generation.

You are maybe too young to remember what happened in the 80's to Australia after Chappel, Marsh, Lillee & co departed. But knee jerking is never the answer. AB chose a squad of allegedly not the best players - but ones with grit. Boon and Jones generally performed. For years they were criticised but eventually S Waugh, I Healey came to fruition. Some did not such as Swampy.

The bowlers - my god Australia went though so many. Lawson, Hughes, Alderman, Rackeman, McDermott, Whitney, Reid Dodemaide, Campbell.... But looked what happened when you just kept selecting McGrath (which was only forced when Billy broke down).

Lost all credibility....

I wouldn't be accussing others of having no credibility.

Macgill may not have been SK Warne - but every other side in the world would have taken him thankyou very much.

Big leg spinner - yeah he gave up 5 more runs per wicket than Warnie BUT got those wickets more quickly. Many times he out performed Shane in tests they both competed in. Sure bag me all you want - but you know you'd kill for a MacGill in the Australian team right now ;)

I don't think Macgill is even close to being in the same league as Warne or McGrath, good bowler though.
