Are you judging him on his 1st inning with the ball? He's better than that. Even Warne rates him as the best spinner in the world right now.

Swann has had his Test statistics inflated against lesser opponents (barring 4 Tests vs SA where he was respectable with 21 wkts @ 31) since the last Ashes series (Bangladesh 4 tests, Pakistan 4 tests). And good luck to him for it, you can only play who is front of you. With that said, it has set him up for failure in Australia where better off-spin bowlers have walked off with horrible series contributions.

In my opinion, Graeme Swann is overrated as hell. No doubt a capable Test bowler but if he is the best spin bowler in the world, it says more for the lack of talent currently than his bowling.

We need at least 5 wickets this session to have a chance to win this match. Otherwise we are heading for a draw.

He swings the ball from the hand which is his main problem, gives the batsmen too much time to adjust. Has been unlucky at times but as they say you make your own luck. But for now hes not the main problem that is Johnson. Siddle will become a problem in a couple of test if he does jack all. I wouldn't mind an attack of Harris, Bollinger and Siddle/Hilfenhaus. Undecided on the last one, Siddle would work nicely without Johnson in the side leaking pressure while Hilfy could benefit from not having the pressure of being the economical and the strike bowler.

if Australia bats second in Adelaide Swann will bag a 10fer for the match.

Murali didn't, Kumble didn't, Singh didn't. Swan won't.

Are some really going to string Siddle for that missed "chance"? This forum has some of the biggest fairweather fans of all-time.

Yeh I couldn't believe (i think it was) Ian Chappel saying that Siddle's was more of a chance than Johnson's catch.

It was a chance, but not a big one.

Ian Chappel should get his hand off Mitchell Johnson's c**k.
