I don't mind Tony Grieg, imo it gets boring hearing 13 Aussie commentators wanking off over Australia all the time, especially when they are justifying the reason for Johnson, North, Siddle, Hussey et al to remain in the side.

A bit of variety is good, makes you realise just how bad this commentary can be to listen to if you don't support Australia. He's a damn sight better to listen to than Healy and that dumb f**k Slater.

Mark Nicholson says hi.

But I agree that I don't like this ex-test player club that commentates. We could do well with a pom on there.

Problem with Greig is he is so f**king arrogant and south african.

Typical Hilfenhaus spell. Moves it around beats the bat, looks like he's about to scythe through the batting any moment - and goes wicketless. Trott looked dead there, but Dar got it right. I really like Hilf, and maybe if he was No.3 in the roster you would persist, but you just can't keep having your strike new ball bowler who just can't take wickets.

Well this game is headed for either a draw or an England win. When this morning it looked like either a Australia win or unlikely draw.

It comes down to ineffective bowling and bad captaining.

England are a better team than this team thrown out there. We were just lucky Siddle decided to have a career day on the first day and Hussey/Haddin's awesome partnership.

Today we are witness to pedestrian bowling. Siddle is back to sucking. Johnson is back to suck... oh he has been sucking for quite a while now. Hilfenhaus may be a good containing third bowler.

We need some drastic changes or otherwise the Poms WILL win this series.

Bollinger needs to come in. FACT!
He is our best bowler. FACT!

Johnson you are out. Go home. Find form. Until then SEE YA!

Watson needs to bowl more. FACT!
This means a drop in the order. He is NOT an opener. FACT!

Hughes comes in for North and opens the batting.

It is troubling when North looks more threatening Doherty. Doherty has no variety whatsoever. I can now see why he averages about 48 in first class. I would give O'Keefe a go. O'Keefe also bolsters our line up.

Depending on form I would put Ryan Harris in over Hilfenhaus. *He currently has 1/12 in Victoria's first innings*

Siddle gets one/two more games based off his first day efforts.

Team for test 2:

Katich
Hughes
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Haddin
O'Keefe
Harris
Siddle
Bollinger

12th Man: S Smith
I'd almost agree with that except for the rubbish about Hilfenhaus. He is a bowlers dream. A bloke who will tie down one end, dry up the runs, forcing the batsmen to try and score more off the other bowler. Batsmen become easier to get out when they start feeling pressured to score runs.

Hilfenhaus should always open the bowling, especially with his swing.

I'd drop Siddle and keep Hilfenhaus.

In Adelaide, we need a spinner who actually turns the ball, I'd be inclined to stick with Doherty for only that reason.

If Clarke is injured and unable to play, bring in Khwaja

I predict England to win this test... Our fielding has been pathetic and bowling and tactics pathetic.. What does Nielsen do???

How much time does today's cricketers spend on fielding? I heard on 9 or ABC, when Bob Simpson was coach, he wanted the Aussies to be the best fielding side. That was some time ago however, Johnson should have taken his catch, Sidd's and Clarke's were difficult but could change the game.

Fielding can win ODI's, but I think it could have changed this match.

Further on the issue of commentators, it's frustratingly annoying that the commentators are afraid to criticise the current Australian players because they are either mates with them or want to be mates with them.

I agree with you on Hilfenhaus. He would be a much more effective bowler with a better supporting cast than Siddle and Johnson. But you can't drop Siddle after his first innings .... unfortunately. Hilfenhaus just hasn't had any luck. But truth is, he is not a strike bowler. At best he is a number three. But he would be a good number three behind Bollinger and Harris. I would have no gripes picking Hilfenhaus over Siddle.

Not impressed with Doherty. Much better limited overs bowler.

I think O'Keefe has potential.
