Touche... but, overall his record's not flash... neither are any of the other quicks in contention, while the spinners are flat out embarrassing...

meanwhile Mr Cricket has averaged 37 in the last 3 years or so (with a couple of centuries, I am staggered he's still in the test team), North just flat out averages 37...

Unless something drastic changes, England have to screw up royally to lose this (they are specialists at that sort of thing though)... your top 4 remain good... Haddin's ok, the rest are mediocre... so, yep, leaving out Bollinger is hard to understand
Hussey averaged about 80 over his first 20 tests. Has averaged 34.5 over his last 34. That he is still in the team is a disgrace, when there are numerous talented young batsmen around. North also.

You can blame Ricky for this, he just loves Siddle they even support the same AFL team.

Bollinger has the best bowling average of all the quicks, but Ponting said that a lack of match fitness had counted against him, as well as the proven ability of the other three to work well as a three-man unit.
Bollinger, and Clarke's batting cover Usman Khawaja, will fly out to Perth after the toss on Thursday morning to join with the New South Wales Shield side for their clash against the Warriors.
"A lack of bowling in the last few weeks has been as much to do with it as anything. Also, this attack, when it was together and bowling well, had good success in South Africa and at different times in England in the last series," Ponting said.
Seriously that series win in South Africa is one of the worst things that's happened to us. Everyone who performed well in that series has had a mortgage on their spot for almost 2 years regardless of results and they keep referring back to it. Johson is never dropped whether he can hit the pitch or not. Siddle has been hopeless ever since as has North, but both are automatic selections

The only poor bastard who doesn't feel the love is Phil Hughes

So a winning series 2 years ago is more important then our last 3 test matches which were losses  I wonder if Hildud will still be harping back to that series when they pick the 2013 ashes team FFS!!

At least the selectors are consistent... We should have seen this coming, I thought it was coming but I was hoping it wasn't. I blame Punter.

lol I like this comment from the fox sports wesbite

1618: Anthony from Tassie says: Dear Mr four & Twenty. Thank for offering your services for the first test at the Gabba. It is with great regret that we inform you we will not require your services. We have managed to secure a Victorian supplier with a great tradition of supplying quality meat pies and feel at this time despite your product being an Australian favourite we really couldn't give a s@@t what the nation thinks. Yours Sincerely, Andrew Hilditch.

p.s. The same supplier also provides a free supply of fruit with his delivery. This can be collected from behind the sight screen.

so Siddle is being played on his form from 2 years ago

normally I would be shocked at such a comment but nothing surprises me any more

The only shock would be if he or any of them had been selected on form from 2 months ago.

Faster we get rid of the selectors and Ponting from having so much power the better.

We just need Ponting to retire so Clarke can be Captain. He seems much more open to playing alongside younger players that aren't married. Also Clarke is his own man and will approach team mates about any issue.

How much would change under Clarke with Hildich and co in charge. These selectors are prone to making stupid calls.
