Away jersey colour debate

You can only imagine some of the colour combos marketing could come up with.
I long for the day when the Dragons wear a jersey consisting of neon yellow bands on a purple jersey against a Tigers team with a bumblebee pattern of aqua, mustard and neon pink.

youre in a minority. Fans love the options on offer, it leads to people buying more than one short a year. Are you buying an NRL shirt home and away that basically looks the same?
The boilermaker shirt was the fastest selling shirt in HKR history.

Yeah PR is definitely in the Minority, lives in Perth awaiting a licence, and will continue to bitch about all things NRL and life until they get one.... then will bitch about the Perth Bears wearing the reversal kit of black and red, purely coz they aren't Hull and do things pommylike, like wear a a fluro lime jersey that represents sweet fk all, you wear your colors home or away, thats the fkn point, you forget the tribe mentality RL has, i doubt that we'll ever see our NRL clubs wear something out of the blue, that doesn't symbolise their brand in someway

Personally I love having the main traditional design and colour brand as the home kit and then going a bit wild with the away/alternate jerseys. It helps sell merch and fans seem to like having other options than just the standard same colours. Not to mention it means you dont get the sht show on tv you get when a clubs colours are same as the opposition.

Something for everyone in my clubs jerseys this year, something for the traditionalists, something for those who want a different look and something for those who want to go a bit wild. Not surprisingly the first batch have all already sold out by Rd1. Im a traditionalist so rarely buy anything other than the home shirt but many others like to have something a bit different. I can guarantee we wont ever clash with the opposition!
Oh and our sponsor integration is a thing of beauty!

The idea is to have a alternate kit that doesnt clash with the home team! Teams should be wearing their main kit unless it clashes with the opposition, in which case wear the away kit. But if the main kit clashes theres not much point having an away kit in the same colours!

The problem is having a jersey with different colours to a club tradional colours doesn't resignate with the fans and casual fans turning on the tele have no freaking idea who is playing.

It isn't worth it just to try and sell a couple of extra jerseys.

Go back to heavy wool, it would make the betting market very interesting,
I like the hypercolor idea but only as a color rush style round for magic round

Plus it makes the crowds look like a dogs breakfast. the Warriors had that problem until a couple of years ago, too many special jerseys in different colours so supporters don’t look like a unified block. Compare that to a St George or Bulldogs game where it’s a sea of blue and white or red and white, that’s what you want to create.

Spot on - most clubs have a colour in their palette that's not white, that differs vastly from their main home jersey colour

For the Warriors, red or green instead of blue

For the Eels, gold instead of blue

For the Roosters, red instead of blue.

And so on..

Not enough teams explore the lesser colours of their existing palette, and white is the easy "go to".
