Axemen in 100'000 homes AND our stadium move

Just wanted to clear up a few things after reading some notes on the Axemen.
Hodges Stadium at UNF is having a complete new drain system put into (under the ground) playing field this summer. When the new running track was put around the field a few years ago it altered the current drain system and it did not work as well as it had when it was an open sided field. Due to this we have had to move our games to the #2 field at UNF that is the same field we used in 2008 when they were installing the running track. UNF has worked with us HUGE to make it happen, the city of Jacksonville is working with us to supply mobile bleachers to seat 2000 fans, we have purchased a 40 foot long tent with misting type cooling fans to act as our VIP/Sponsor host "room", and we have full merchandise, concessions, beer, etc sales as always. The only thing that has really changed is that the teams have a 100 meter walk from the Hodges Stadium Locker Rooms to the field.

AND NOW THE BIG NEWS - The Axemen have been put on the FULL COVER in FULL COLOR of the 2013/2014 Yellow Pages Directory. This means that our name, website, Rugby League, USA Rugby League, etc, is going to be put into 100'000's of homes in the Jacksonville Area. Very simply put, it is like having a mail out flyer to advertise our team and sport that will stay in homes for a year.
It is a pretty big deal given our VERY limited budget to advertise and market against some of the larger sports.
Out of Suns Baseball, Jacksonville Jaguars, Jacksonville Sharks (Arena Football), local basketball, soccer and lacrosse......AXEMEN RUGBY LEAGUE is the Sport that is on the FULL COVER of every YELLOW PAGES PHONE BOOK.

New stadium, locker rooms, new uniforms but using a Gilbert Rugby Union Ball. YOU can't make this stuff up.

GTL who cares what ball is used. No one in the US would no the different between a union ball and a league ball anyway. The point it to play the game.

Byrner first off you speak ebonics and secondly Americans know the difference between a league and union ball. My point was that if Jacksonville is the flagship club for the USARL the least they could do is use a League ball.

There is little difference in playing with a steeden or a gilbert. Even the NRL an ESL use different balls (well a few years back they did, not sure if thats still the case).

Who cares what ball is used. Is that really going to have an impact? They could use a fkn soccer ball for all I care.

The main point is that people play the game.

In the UK we use Rhino Rugby balls as of this year (had been Steeden since 2004 and Gilbert before that).

If there is no sponsorship in place for the ball, it doesn't matter which one you use at the end of the day.

More exposure the better, good to see some people out there giving it everything they can.

Forward thinkers and go getters.
