Ayshford re-signs

Ayshford was great tonight. What was it, fifty tackle breaks in one run? It's a pity he doesn't have a touch more pace otherwise he'd be coming into Origin consideration.

Loved how Fifita fired up tonight, too. One thing I've hated about the Tigers is there never seems to be someone who gets the shits when the opposition is being a bit too grubby and looks willing to beat the shit out of people. Fifita looks like he can play this role.

Ayshford should be used far more coming out of our own end. Seldom does he make a run and get less than 7 or 8m, he's so difficult to tackle.

Great game from Ayshford. Lui still can't tackle and goes missing when the heat is on. WTF is the deal with benching Hino for so long???

It was a great game from Ayshford tonight. I often bag him as well, but rightly so for the first 11 rounds. He was also very good throughout the finals last season, but his good performances are very few and far between, I just hope he can find some consistency in his game.

Can't understand where you are coming from - he has been consistant / improving all year.

Are you serious, the class centres such as Hodges and Gasnier have made him look like a battling reserve grader.
I`ve got to give credit where credit is due, but he still has a long way to go before he can be considered in the same breath as the top 10 or so centres in the game.

Actually yes, I am serious - I did not name him as a rep player / top 10 etc I said he had been consistant / improving, and is the best centre option we have aside from Lawrence atm.

I thought he was our best back last night & TBH I can't recall a game where I thought he would have liked to forget it? I think he has a bright future.
Perhaps if the forwards tried running straight instead of sideways taking all the space away from the backs, you may even see some better things from him & the rest of the backline as well.

I don't think anyone is comparing him to Gasnier or Hodges - arguably the two best centres of the past decade. Most people see him for what he is - a solid if unspectacular first grader who is improving. If we had some forwards who worked the ball out of our end like he does he might get a chance or two at the other end of the field to show what he can do.

The commentary team last night was bang on. Save for one or two forwards each week who put their hand up for the hard yards, it's a different attitude shown by our boys depending on what end of the field we're at.

Can you name a better option at the moment? I am happy with how he is going. I see improvement in him, and hope it continues.

I never said we have a better option. But he has been pretty poor this year IMO and still does not have a passing game that I can see.

And credit where credit is due - B. Ryan did pretty well last night as well.

Assuming that Lote will miss a week at least and if McKinnon was OK maybe the supercoach will keep Ryan for a week, move Moltzen to half and play 4 forwards from the bench, I hope so anyway.

I'm in the same boat and can't see what all the bagging is about at least he has a go and is still improving with age.

Perhaps in defence he hasnt been at his best but i wouldnt rate him as poor.
End of the day we have a salary cap and cant have the best players all across the park, so for a budget centre he is a pretty safe and consistant player that gives great value for money.... he may be a little slow but he is as quick as Shane Elford who was also a similiar type of reliable player for us.
