595 in the first dig and they might lose.

Surely that'd be a record.

It would be a test match record if NZ chase the total down, eclipsing Australia's 586 back in 1894.

However, in the 5 day-90 overs per day test era, the highest losing first innings score is 556 by Australia vs India at Adelaide in 2003.

yikes - one more and they're into the tail - we really should pick 5 bats like Australia do - their tail starting at 6 inspires so much more confidence

Nicholls can bat though.

I wouldn't rate him the tail.

Watling averages about 38-39 I think so that's not the tail.

As long as Williamson is there you will get home.

This is the key partnership because not only are they nzs best bats but they can score quick. The others will score slow which will allow the Bangers to just chip away without the game getting away quickly.

you're forgetting Colin de G - good for a 20 off 8 balls, as is Tim Southee

Great innings from Bradmanson.

What a win this will be.

600 dec. and you lose. Oh dear...

A side used to winning wouldn't have lost it. Sadly Bangladesh are used to losing. Their batsmen panicked and threw the game away second innings.

The sad thing is you could almost see it coming once NZ's first innings was over. Same with Pakistan against the Aussies a few weeks back.

When you score big in the first innings and then the opposition return serve you're really the only team who can lose it from there. Bangladesh have managed to do just that and as you say it's completely a mental thing (injuries didn't help).

Unfortunately I had a feeling that the bangers would crumble in their 2nd dig. It's been their weakness for a long time.

Well done kiwis and especially Kane who continues to show his class against the giants of world cricket.

If Taylor winds up with a nice not out here, he'd best buy useless old Erasmus a slab for his troubles....
