Bojan - how much of a player of the future is he? Half Spanish-Half Serbian I believe. He might elect to play for Serbia I would assume... however I would love it if this talent played for Spain. He is such and awesome player of the future.

Well done, Barca... couldn't have gone easy on us could you? If just one of those goals had come a few days earlier...

FFS - Madrid got out of jail against Osasuna... they were down 1-0 with 3 mins to go and managed to score 2 goals in that time :(

The amount of times Real Madrid has gotten results like this in the last two seasons is unbelievable. It'd be easier to comprehend if they actually showed real quality more often than they do, but for pretty much every time they've been genuinely fantastic there's an occasion where they've been just as woeful. Mind boggling really.

What a joke Barca are for appointing Guardiola. What experience has he had?

yeah not much, Barca B are leading the Segunda B though.
Here's an article on the topic

Guardiola To Be Named New Barcelona Coach
Reports in Spain are claiming that former Barcelona captain Josep Guardiola is ready to take the reigns at Camp Nou.

galleria zoom The Barcelona board of directors, including Joan Laporta and Txiki Begiristain, held a meeting on Monday to decide on a replacement for Frank Rijkaard, who is likely to depart at the end of the season.

According to Marca, the directors have decided to appoint former midfielder Josep Guardiola. Barcelona will announce the move on May 19th, following the final Liga game, when Rijkaard is also expected to bid farewell.

Barca have once again ended the season with no silverware, and Guardiola's rather progessive plans - presented to the board last month - have met with great approval. There have been suggestions that he was being lined up as a number two, but it now appears that the Catalans are ready to hand him full control.

Guardiola has had an excellent relationship with the club since 1984 when he joined as a youth team player. He went on to win major honours both domestically and in Europe including the 1992 European Cup, and a massive six La Liga titles in the 90's.

At the moment, he is in charge of the Blaugrana’s B team, and has impressed with his fresh approach.

Many feel that 'Pep', as he was known, will not have the adequate experience to guide the Blaugrana to the dizzying heights they have become accustomed to, and are keen to see Jose Mourinho succeed Rijkaard despite an intense rivalry with him while he managed Chelsea.

However, Laporta has already ruled that out when insisting that any new coach will have to play the 'Barcelona way', and is now ready to throw his weight behind the legendary midfielder.

Michael Laudrup has also been linked with the post. Another ex-Barça player, the Danish legend has done an impressive job in his first season in charge of Getafe. Laurent Blanc is another name reportedly on the Blaugrana's list, but is believed to be somewhat further down the pecking order.

World Cup winning coach Marcello Lippi - unemployed since his 2006 triumph with Italy - has expressed a degree of interest in managing in La Liga, though many believe he would prefer to stay in his native Italy if possible.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Pep looks to be leading the way, and could well be formally appointed as soon as the 19th of May.

No offence to Guardiola (who was a great player and person), but he has had zero experience at the top level.

i'd give him the chance. Same was said about Wenger back when he joined Arsenal and in more recent times, about Avram grant. He's clearly being chosen to rid the club of all the infighting among players and being a former barca player, he should be pretty effective at doing that

I would argue the opposite - that being a former player (not too long ago either) would mean he would be chummy with the players (like Nathan Brown at the Dragons).

Why they didn't go for someone like Mourinho or Lippi is a little puzzling.

Good luck with that, but with it all over bar the shouting up the top, all eyes will be on the crucial match between Valencia and Real Zaragoza. FFS, I don't wanna see Zaragoza go down, but it's looking more and more likely that it'll either be us or them, I'm afraid. A win will almost certainly guarantee survival.

Already the vultures are circling. Not only is Villa looking likely to leave but I read on Marca that teams are enquiring about Joaquin.

The other big story on their website is a potential move for Eto'o by Tottenham, which would coincide with Barca trying to sign Villa. Would prefer him to got you guys over Madrid, that's fo sho.

Also Marca are claiming Chelsea are gonna offer Madrid 70 million euros for Sergio Ramos. Lol.

f**k this sh*t, im going to work :(
I know you're at work now... Henry scored a late goal.

Now this is what puzzles me about Barca and somewhat sums up our season... we win 1 game 6-0 and then get belted 4-1 in the next game. What a fluctuation.

HT it's important to remember, Barca are playing for nothing at the moment. We have nothing to play for except pride. The team doesn't really care anymore it seems now that the CL is out of reach.
