I think the creation of the BBL has shone a light on a crap organisation that is CA. For the most popular "All Australia" sport, both the AFL and NRL (under V'Landys) run absolute rings around them.
CA will probably think the BBL is the best T20 league in the world considering Australia are now T20 world champions.

When its anything but.

Taking the quantity over quality approach pays off short term with the bigger TV contracts. Not sure how it's going to go long term.
How many viewers are lost that won't come back?
Guess we'll find out.
Sure Covid doesn't help, but the issues were there with the extended season before Covid up ended everything.

I'd say I watched more of the WBBL than this one. Just seemed more interesting somehow

BBL went to shit about season 5-7 ( 2015/16 - 2017/18).

Later start times. Not kid family friendly. Longer season. Too many games. Extended finals. Mediocrity.
Slower over rates and bigger breaks.
The furore over Chris Gayle’s ‘don’t blush comment’
Then the standard of imports declined.
Rival T20 comps and NZ and SAF started playing Boxing Day / NY tests.
Then switch to 7 and Fox saw the f**kwits of 10 on FTA, where the better commentators went behind a paywall.

Yeah i reckon i watched less BBL this year then ever before. I watched the thunder play and the odd game here and there but other then that i was generally just checking the scores on my phone without watching any action. Not like previous seasons where every night the BBL would be on TV.

The BBL hasn't produced anyone of note for the last 5 years or so, if you look at the Australian team who won the world cup it was old stagers.

It's always been a domestic comp sprinkled with a few over the hill 'stars' or poms no f**ker has ever heard of

I think this is a bit of a chicken/egg scenario to be fair.

It's hard for the BBL to produce much when we're the only country in the world that ignores T20 'specialists' for T20 international games and instead chooses a diet ODI squad with extra ploddy all rounders.

A guy like McDermott could have been a steady international, at least at T20 level, if we picked actual T20 squads. Or Behrendorff or even AJ Tye before he disappeared up his own well knuckled anus. Instead we might occasionally pick Chris Lynne or Ben McDermott or Sam Heazlett for an ODI based on T20 form then discard them when that fails for some reason no one can possibly fathom....

He did i was more referring to now and atm.

BBL03 last time he played i believe.

He played for sixers in BBL 02 and got a duck.

Thrn went back to the Thunder again in BBL03 and played one game.
I don’t even remember him playing another game for either team.
I never saw in Thunder colours that’s for sure.

If they absolutely have to keep the 14 game season, then put me double and triple headers in. Have one game at 4pm, the other at 7:30pm, and boom.

Eliminate the stupid bash boost point, or make it so you only get it if you win the game. Strikers made the finals off the point, but lost more games than the Stars - lunacy.
