I like those bears logos.

Where was the one someone made in which the bear face was also a map of WA coastline. That was super clever - subtle enough not to hit you in the face but obvious once you see it.

Loved it.

For mine, and I'll state again from the very beginning here, I'm not in any way thinking Perth Bears should be a relocated North Sydney team as far as logo or jerseys go (bar for a heritage jersey). I firmly believe this should be a brand new team, new history, and new look.

But...

IF they were absolutely hell-bent on having a NthSyd Bears jersey design as a main jersey (home or away), then in my eyes, it would make sense to have the NS jersey as the club's away jersey. Most of their away games are going to be in NSW, which is where the vast majority of NS Bears fans reside. Have a lovely new fresh jersey design for the home games in Perth.

The alternate this world in which the club has a NS jersey design is for it to be the home games, which is a long way from NSO, and the games played in Sydney would have the alternate / away kit. And that, to me, makes less sense.

Off-topic for a moment, @Smithtown, it's great to see you're still around these parts, mate. I hope you and the milihazo crew are all doing well.

Ultimately it’ll be up to the individual supporter of what light they see the club in.

Some will see it as something new. Others as Norths returning in Perth. Others as a mix of both.

There’s heavy Norths involvement though ie constitutional decree of the club. The club & Anthony DC is also weighing very heavily on Terry Reader ceo of the Dolphins. The closest iteration in thought is that the clubs are similarly structured however one is based in its traditional home and the other 4,000kms away.

But again, how it’s perceived it’s really just on the individual fan.

You aren't expected to celebrate or even acknowledge that the club has a pre-existing history and lineage from <2027, but if this description ends up being what the Perth Bears roll out, then the club may as well not even return in any form.

Perth Bears: founded 2025, kicking off 2027.

North Sydney Bears: founded 1908.

Perth Bears should not be a transplanted North Sydney. North Sydney still exist in Sydney as North Sydney.

But there is of course a connection, of which I'm suggesting can be acknowledged through heritage kits, warm-up / training kits, ect.

Off topic again

Hey @Nuke - thanks for the shout out and yes I lurk around a bit without ever posting too much. The crew are very well tks, based in Burleigh, Brisbane, Newman and Perth respectively!.

I am quite enjoying the Perth + Norths amalgam. It will work I have no doubts - great colours (red and black is fine trust me!) and fascinating (if not too successful) history. The morph from the Shoremen to the Sandgropers is a great one.

Having family born and bred in Willoughby and life long Norths supporters, plus playing a season with my brother at the great McMahons Point Sharks (check out their 80's jerseys) plus all that time in Perth gives me more than a passing interest.

This is where it can get confusing, but I get it.

Norths supporters (or just the ones paying close enough attention) have had the benefit of a football club in communication with its members and the ARLC about what is and isn't important to keep throughout this process, and apparently there's no resistance from the ARLC about keeping the club's lineage intact with stuff like their premierships or keeping 1908 as its year of foundation.

The WA side had the state premier who I doubt would even care much for those details, and a consortium who by all accounts, were way off the mark on this stuff. Perhaps they muddied the waters on what to expect, but I'd be surprised if the ARLC backflips on the stuff they allegedly said they're on board with.
