No Peter Jackson?? wtf.

I agree with you buddy! I used to be a bears supporter and as much as I loved watching them and miss them now, some of the player selections bewildered me over the years, and it looks like nothing has changed. Somebody like Paul Macaffery or anybody with the last name Mackinnon would make that list before Peter Jackson.
Peter Jackson had more to do with the resurgance of Norths in the early 90's than anybody else. He tought the bears how to win.

Nepotism was insane at Norths. The amount of talented kids they let fall through the cracks from clubs like West Pymble and Asquith before the mid 1980's was stupefying. If you didn't play for Brothers, you're chances of getting a start in Flegg, Matthews, Presidents Cup etc* was next to nothing.

I have no idea why we've allowed a few of those criminal mugs who sunk Norths in the late 1990's stay on at Manly after the Merger broke up...

I'd have to ask the olds. Marist is certainly part of Brothers catchment and I played my junior footy with alot of kids who went to Marist. It was Florimo's junior club, even though he lived in the Willoughby Roos and Naremburn Panthers catchment when he was a kid IIRC.

t-ba, You are so correct. I know coz I played for West Pymble for 13 years. Some bloody average Brothers players played grade for the bears over the years, in fact there might even be a couple in that all time great list lol.

by the way Collegians=Brothers

And it was'nt just how to win it was the personnel drive of the man that impressed everyone.

Drive and detirmination is what made Norths special in the 90s.

How hard did little Mark Soden throw himself in footy. What a champ of the little men!

Bruce Warwick, Noel Soloman, Steve Trindall and Terry Butler were very unlucky to miss out.
