I've been getting a different bottle of "boutique" beer each week (along with my normal case) to try out - something different to treat myself. Last week I got this^ and decided to get it again tonight to have while watching the footy. Highly recommended, it's like drinking beer and eating chocolate ice-cream at the same time!

Tried various liquer/coffee/chocolate drinks. Nonononono. Alcohol and chocolate were meant to be kept separate.

Probably not available anywhere else, but shit Burleigh Brewing's range goes ok.

Dos Equis cheap tonight, thought why not. About the only mexican beer worth a shit.

Used to enjoy Pacifico but Dan Murph's cottoned onto that I think and jacked up the price, merkins

Chocolate stout is a winner in most forms IMO.

Sierra Nevada Hoptimum.....um, wow? Triple hopped, full cones, 11%. Two is enough, but what a beer!

DuClaw in Maryland do a chocolate peanut butter porter.

6.5%abv but very heavy on the palate. Tasty, but one and done.

So far tonight....

Bridge Road Brewers Galaxy Single Hop IPA-I love these dudes and I love this beer. More of a sessionable IPA, still hoppy and bitter but a little gentler on the whole.

Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA-Interesting beer. I really like it. Not as bitter as the Bridge Road, a little fuller and richer, and different flavour profile from the rye

Hop Dog Horns Up Rye IPA-From Nowra. Not in the same class as the Sierra Nevada, a little muddy and flatter wuth lots less hops. That said, still a nice beer, a little sweet.

Founders Centennial IPA-Typical American IPA, resiny and malty. Fking good beer though

Hmmmmm. Interesting. Might check out Purvis Beer in Richmond which is where I got my intro to Holgate Temptress Porter.

Currently waiting my turn at the barber enjoying a Sideshow Breweries ticket booth Pale Ale. Pretty heavy but very nice.

In Melbourne near my joint, mate. Northcote specifically. Lords of The North Barbers.

Do drop in if you are in town. My favorite place to be in Melbourne besides my local pub. Just great to go in, have a beer (if you're offered) and relax while you wait your turn in the chair. The girl who runs it is incredibly nice and I always feel better after she cuts my hair.

Two Holgate beers tonight, ESB and Chocolate Porter.

ESB (Extra Special Bitter) - Smells like mandarin. Definitely bitter! Not bad, but is lacking something in the middle I think.

Chocolate Porter - Much more of the latter than the former. Finishes off with a touch of vanilla. Really good porter, pick of the two.
