Townsville Bitter from the Brewery in Townsville is fantastic. I wish I knew somewhere to get it in Brisbane.

I had a laugh last weekend, when my mate and I went to the Dragons vs Cowboys game (he's a North Qld fan). The whole game they were running "VB, official beer partner for the Dragons" on the PA and big screen. This was contrary to what WIN Stadium believed in, who only served Tooheys New or Hahn Super Dry, much to my approval (over VB anyway).

Full strength too!

Couple of Nomad beers so far tonight:

- Cruisin' Ale. Meh, solid but not worth buying again.
- Long Trip Saison. Tastes kinda like Franziskaner Kristal. Again solid but wouldn't buy it again.

Jopen "Northsea" IPA. A Dutch brewer doing the Dutch version of IPA, but calling it IPA because marketing. Good drink, strong without being overpowering and with a bittersweet finish.

Bentspoke Descent 16. Imperial stout, 16.2% abv. Like the distilled essence of stout, amazing beer on a cold winters night. Two is plenty though, thank you

Thanks to this thread it kick started me into trying some excellent beers over the years.

My all time favourites right now are (in no order):
Stone Ruination Double IPA 1.0 and 2.0
Ballast Point Big Eye IPA
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (having one now. It's usually my go to beer)
Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA
Mountain Goat Summer Ale (best beer on a stinking hot day but great anytime, too.)
Deschuttes Fresh Squeezed IPA
Holgate Road Trip IPA (even better than Feral's Hop Hog imo).

If you like Sierra Nevada beers/hoppy beers, see if you can't find the Hoptimum and the Hop Hunter....

I think I've seen them around before. Will have to try them.

Have you had the Stone Ruination 1.0 or 2.0 before? You have to try them if you haven't. They are sensational beers with a truck load of hops. I could be wrong but I actually think the 2.0 is only available now but it's probably a bit better anyway with a slightly more stone fruit flavour than the original. I sourced them from Beer Cartel.
