George Rose I hope. He's a real talent. If he is coached properly he will turn out to be another Carl Webb.

100% perry is off contract. he signed for 3yrs in 2002 on a FAT deal. apparently not happy with his current (lower) offer.

M GIDS is the one we have to export.. there is the $$$ to chase Lyon asap; he can go piggin with Abes...

Perry is definately off contract, and I believe should be let go, that gives us another $240,000 to spend. I agree on Matt Gidley, he really has been a non performer for a couple of years, for a senior player he is noticably missing when the chips are down. Thaiday may surprise us at fullback. I was reading today that it's his fav position, and he's played his best footy there. People have been critical of his defence, but from what I've seen he's a better defender than some of our more established "stars" If he plays up to his reputation at fullback we may be looking to put Seage somewhere else,(he's off contract this year to I believe) Thaiday has speed, and could well be a livewire at fullback, a few games will tell us the answer. We definately need some spark in our dismal backline. I'd like to see Cooper given a run in the vacant centre spot. We are well served with some promising young backrowers, so I would like to see a couple of hard props signed, we definately missed the boat in that area last year with guys like Stringer, Cussak, and Webb available. Stringer and Cussak would have been fairly well priced I think. I would guess some forwards will become available again this year, so instead of sitting on our hands like last year I hope we go after at least one. A quality back is a must. I would also like to see the club give someone like Spiteri a run at being a shock type sub this season and see if he is up to it in first grade, he certainly is in the lower grade. That would add a new dimension(for us anyway) to our game. I'm surprised at the low amount available as well, I can only assume some money is being spent tying up some of our promising juniors.

Didn't Perry's manager say that Perry will NOT be running around with the Knights @ 150k?

I wouldn't pay him a dollar fifty to run around for Scorps 3rd division.

Apparantly thats what the offer this time is. His last contract was worth well in excess of $200,000. I say let him go.

Don't sign Lyon he'll problably do another runner.

But he'd probably be running with some speed and strength which is more than our current crop are capable of producing. ;-)

I'll be pissed if he signs for $150k. He's not worth anywhere near that. I wouldn't pay him an apprentices wage. Useless fat f**ker.

Id like to get Albert but i think i heard somewhere he's signed for another 2 to 3 years, so he's basically finished his career at St Helens. Perry has to be let go, especially if he won't accept less than 150K. He knows he is under performing and still wants to steal every dollar from the bankrupt club. I certainly don't want one of those at the Knights. Downside is that if we let Perry go, Smith retires and sign no quality props, Woolnough and Matt Kennedy will be our starting front rowers and we'll get dominated every game. Matt Gidley's time is up and should be let go if he stops an up and coming centre for first grade. If he causes Tighe to leave the club then I'll really be pissed. The club needs to concentrate on signing one dynamic young centre that knows his way to the try line and one enforcer prop that can lead the pack like Smith has done this year.

Steve Turner and George Rose. That's all we can hope for with the $200,000 we have to spend. We'd be lucky to get both.
