1. Hayne
2. B. Morris
3. Lyon
4. Cooper
5. Jennings
6. Barrett
7. Kimmorley
8. Weyman
9. Ennis
10. Perry
11. Gallen
12. Creagh
13. Lewis

14. Watmough
15. Mason
16. TLL
17. Bird/Gidley (utility)

A much better team than the one named.

I agree, except I'd have Waterhouse instead of Mason. Gidley would be the utility. It's a toss up between Barrett (experience) or Campese (future) at five eighth. I'd go with Campo, but I'd be happy with Barrett. He does lift for big games.

Waterhouse for Creagh and I think I am 100% with you. Watmough, Mason and TLL off the bench. How could you not love the impact they would bring?

Here's a f**king hint NSW selectors. Queensland have a great hooker, a great full back, a great five eighth and a great half back.

If you havent got those, then dont bother.

You need the best players in the position they represent, not to pick someone and hope he can plug a gap. That might work when you're playing NRL against inferior opposition. That wont work against Queensland.

Absolutely spot on.

I can only remember one game in recent years where Queensland played a non-specialist in one of those positions, when they put K. Hunt at 5/8.

Queensland lost that game.

Unlike NSW, they learned their lesson and never made that mistake again.

Yeh, Creagh or Waterhouse, either way it is a much better team and most people have said things along those lines but the NSW selectors continuously f*** it up

I can't believe they picked four centres in the same team. And that's not even counting Lewis, who has played a lot of games in that position over the years. Haha.

Also, as long as they keep picking Cooper for Origin, then I guess his strategy of dodging City-Country is validated.

I assume Idris will come on for Ennis at some stage with Gidley pushing into hooker and Hayne dropping back to wing. Pretty narrow use. It might be a nice way to blood a debutant if Blues happen to have an unbeatable lead (how likely is that).

I can kind of get behind the idea of picking guys with established club connections (Cooper/Morris, Kimmorley/Ennis and, to a lesser extent, Tahu/Hayne) ... it's something a lot of fans have suggested previously. Shrug.

Some of the decisions are dead set non-sensical. Even if NSW jags the win.

Geez this annoys me. There are some unusual selections sure, but the game is 10 days away, and there's two more to get it right if they're wrong.

Get behind the team! We must look pathetic to the Queenslanders the way we bash our own state players...

You've got to be kidding. Two more to get it right? They've had 4 years to get it right. QLD will have it wrapped up by game 2.

I knew they'd select Lyon at 5/8th, I don't agree with it, Lyon probably doesn't agree with it but I could see it coming. There are a few terrible selections there, but the one I simply cannot fathom is the selection of fatty man boobs on the bench. He has done NOTHING to earn his postion.

Lyon admitted he wanted to play centre, so if thats the case why pick him at five eighth? He's only a fill in five eighth at best.

There are three genuine ball playing, add in kicking game five eighths who play in that position in the whole of NSW. Soward, Campese and Barrett. Those were your choices. So Bird, Lewis, Lyon, Carney etc etc all got looked at. It just doesnt make sense.

NSW seem to still believe that they have Andrew Johns playing half back and it doesnt matter who they play at five eighth.

Gidley should be the only half on the bench. Carrying Idris so you can bring him to centre, move Tahu to the wing, place Hayne at full back and Gidley to dummy half and Ennis to the bench. Musical f**king chairs against the best players on the planet in the middle of a game? Tell me that makes sense.

how are they supposed to train for two positions through the same week? I understand Gidley to hooker but how is he going to provide a spark when he starts the game

Why do we look pathetic compared to the Queenslanders? because they laugh at our selections. About this time of year doubt creeps in for the canetoads "This year might be their year" Then our selectors read out the team and they burst into hysterics...and why not.

We pick players out of position, we don't persist with proven performers and we throw untested young players into the lions den when they are clearly not the best men for the job.

I just cannot understand why Lyon would be 5/8 when we have a proven number 6 who hs offered NSW great service for many years. Trent Barrett didnt even get a look in when he had two solid games for us last year and the NSW selectors said they would stay "loyal" to the game thre team from last year. PFFFT!

And Idris. FMD this guy is a huge liability in defence. GI will run rings around him when he comes on. I think he would of played for NSW eventually but needed a few NRL seasons under his belt to work on his defence and fitness.

Thirdly, Gallen should be there somewhere.

Apart from that I can accept the other selections.

Yeah... Terrible team on pape... Terrible... But then again Origin isn't won on paper and we'll have to see what happens wednesday week...

Just to let you guys know though, that I'm just as frustrated as the next NSWelshman...

Gidley - fullback and captain:crazy:
Lyon - at 5/8 :x
Creagh - he should never play SOO again after running away from Hodges, bloody cat.
Watmough at lock - wtf?
Perry - now it's getting sad:(

Idris - now it's just getting funny:lol:

Win or lose I reckon Bellamy will quit after this years SOO. The sectors need to sacked, Daley is the biggest goose involved with the game.

Other mind-boggling bit, Bellamy publically states that Dugan isn't quite there yet, but Idris (two months younger) is apparently okay?

It'd be less of a shuffling act to have Dugan on the bench and bringing him on if Gidley goes to hooker.

Better still, just play Hayne at fullback in the first place and Gidley off the bench (if he has to be in the team at all).

Why do people insist on solely bagging Daley when these selections come up?

There are 3 other selectors and Daley isn't even chief.
