Have been watching him closely this year and have to say in my opinion he is better than Brett White. He is harder and fitter. Bellamy rates him very highly. Along with Sarge they should cause plenty of pain to opposition packs next year. On the subject of front rowers has anyone seen just how quick Wicksy is off the mark for a big unit. He gets over the advantage line with ease.

Didn't Cross play 60-odd minutes in a couple of games this year? That shows just how fit he is.

Well yeah cause White is only at the start of his career and has another 8 or 9 years ahead of him.

25, but like most props he'll most likely get better with age, and cause he was kicking around in the reggies for so long could prolly play until he's 33/34

Personally I think Wicks will be great next year. I can see him being one of the best impact props in the game, in a Fuifui Moimoi mould, just not as agressive, Wicks liks to pick holes and burst through them and run 30 odd metres.

And yeah, I reckon Cross will be great for us, was looking forward to him and Snowden ripping in as starting props, that looks unlikely now though...

Sarge has been going great guns for us this year, possibly even our best Prop. I must say though, we have missed Perry in the past couple of weeks IMO with go forward, he might be lazy but he can make some metres.

8. Cross
9. Buderus
10. Sargent
11. Simpson
12. Paterson
13. Taia (IMO is turning into an awesome Player)

14. Wicks
15. Houston
16. Hilder
17. Renoyldson

Good Pack and Bench IMO Maybe Reyno is on the way out and I cant see Hilder lasting long.

Just look at that foward pack and the rotation on the bench compared to that of 2/ 3 years ago only 2 survivors being the best 2 players in the pack, Buderus and Simpson. Looking foward to great 2008. No more deadwood as every player in that rotation offers something to the side and not just there to make up numbers.

I think Taufua is going to be a gun.

Also, Hilder will be playing PL most of the year IMO - although he could be the new tanner....

Reyno has a great workrate - and we need that with Pato not having such and Simmo doing walshy's tackling for him.

Taia has a better workrate, and he's got alot more quality about him.

Tanner and Hilder are completely different styles of players. They aren't alike at all.

I know they have different styles - what I mean is a player that seems to have a mortgage on the 13 jersey.

I don't know, I don't really rate him that much on what I have seen. no mongrel, no size, passable skills.

but I guess I will reserve judgement until he is here - you guys seem excited, so must see something.

Taia was fantastic against the bunnies and ordinary against the Rooters (injured?)

hardly enough of a sample to form an opinion on his workrate.

The only resemblence in Hilder and Tanner would be their workrate. But even in that department, Hilder does twice the work that Tanner would do in a single game. What i like in Hilder is his playmaking qualities. He isn't a half but he can handle himself with the ball in hands. Should add an extra dimension coming off the bench.

With this said, i'd prefer Bailey over Hilder, but Bailey just never seems to be able to stay injury free for long. When he can string a few games together i think he will be a great talent, but he just needs to stay on the field for longer.

I've never understood the belief some people hold of Reynoldson that he is our team's workhouse- he has had one game in the past two seasons where he has made 40+ tackles, but people still talk of his effort against the Sharks in '06 as if it is the norm. Don't even get me started on his hit ups and metres gained.

The guy bleeds mediocracy.
