Benji A Dragon!

In the press conference Benji spoke eloquently, honestly and articulated his thoughts with passion and style.

Then Steve Price answered a question and burped his way through crap about "systems and structures".

It was equal parts funny, embarrassing and painful.

I was reading an article by Mick Carayannis from smh. i found the boded section quite interesting, seems he's intent of proving a point, and may have moved his ego aside. let's hope it's not just Presser talk.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/leaner-meaner-benji-marshall-signs-on-with-st-george-illawarra-dragons-20140509-zr8iq.html

“I just weighed up from a football point of view where I thought I would fit in best,” Marshall said. “Talking to the coaching staff at the Dragons, the things they told me probably weren’t the things that I wanted to hear but what I needed to hear. We had that honesty behind each other and I feel like I can add to the squad."

Well said Godz.

I honestly have no frick..g idea what Price was mumbling.

Could be / would be / structures / no promises / team talk...

Benji was careful in his wording... " one of the best back 3 "... and " a ummm ... solid pack ".

I hope it works out for you guys,he was an exceptional player in his prime who provided great entertainment. His decline at the WT has been well documented for various reasons, for Benji to recapture the level he once reached he has to be prepared to RUN THE BALL and TAKE A TACKLE,which then restricts his poor plays.
If he can achieve this you will get good value out of him !

Sounds like one of our ex-players.

This is great signing .Lets see what happens in the next few weeks is Price up to coaching a team with game breakers that we have lacked in years. If we still struggle to win games Price should step down.I still doubt whether Price can coach.........

I want to know what these "good systems and structures" are.

I thought Benji answered the questions honestly and if anything, set my mind at ease about the decision we had made.

I think the positive thing about having benji on the field is the decision making. If the game plan isn't working, I think Benji has the ability to take it into his own hands to change the direction of the game. I don't think we do that at the moment.

Poor Pricey.
I wish he didn't have to speak in public.
I don't know what strengths, if any, he may possess. But public speaking certainly ain't one of them.

Met Pricey after the game in Auckland, what you see is what you get.Spoke for a couple of minutes only but he seems a genuinely shy type of guy.
Just think he is the ideal assistant coach, not a first grade coach. Can see why the players like him,but sometimes a coach needs more fire in the belly to lift the side to another level.
Reckon this explained his early days as coach when we thought he was doing a Bennett act.

I nearly fell off my seat when Benji said that the dragons have a solid fwd pack oh plz. Did see the games against the roosters, broncos and rabbits lol!

He's just signed with a new club. What he going to say:" the forwards are a bit soft" ?

Well I disagree. I believe Price will go on to be one of the best coaches of all time.

fact.

What have you seen, heard or dreamt that actually makes you believe this. Not once in 2 1/2 years has he said, done or planned anything to support this belief. He is slowly killing the club I love.

Interesting to see how Bennett is going at the Knights. I am sure he has had sufficient time to mould his team into a premiership threat however he is not succeeding at present.
What makes me cranky is that he gets all the kudos yet leaves our club with an ageing roster & also takes a few players from us.
I really believe that Benji will make a big difference to our team.
Don't forget everybody has been whinging that we haven't had a decent halfback since Hornby retired.
Well we have one now so let's see what happens.
Happy Mother's Day & up the Dragons.
