Don't get me wrong - I also think he is done. He just lacks the pace and zip to be a force in the league anymore.

I just don't think he has been that bad. He just looks like an average player now.
Thats not what he lacks.

His issue is that he lacks motivation.

Thats usually the most obvious thing to go that tells a player its time to retire.

He won't be any good in any code from here on in. He's just mentally not motivated anymore.

Thats all it is with Benji , last year he had something like 37 try assists and 37 line break assists , this year about 8 of each. You dont turn that shit in an off season , if his heart was in the game he would improve 10 fold.

What code or club would pay him decent money now???I feel for the guy, because he has gone from near the top to near the bottom quicker than a down skier.

I dont think all the motivation in the worlds going to help Benji, all the skills that set him above the rest were based on speed, reflexes, reaction time and vision. All those skills have slowed, maybe in a really red hot team he could be some value, but the goods sides play to a rigid structure and our Benji dosnt know what the word structure means.

I think in knocking back our offer, their was only one big winner and it was not Benji

The last two weeks have been the 2 worst games of his career, simply not first grade standard. He is only 28, players don't burn out at that age. But there is more than bad form here, he is not even close to being in the right frame of mind to continue playing and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't see out the year. It must be killing his pride going from one of the best players in the world to playing like a joke.

I disagree 100%. I think he is really trying out there and wants to leave on a high. Its not going to happen though.

This is exactly what has happened. I also wonder where he is going to play if he chooses to and who is going to pay him based on his current ability.

I didn't say he wasn't trying.

I said he had no motivation.

He's going through the motions. He's not interest in the game anymore.

It's like a car with a f**ked starter motor. Turn the key all you like, the car wants to go and tries to go, but its lost the spark, nothing will get it back.

So you replace it.

So you replace it.

That is what is happening at the end of this year so I don't really see the big deal. Its not like we are any chance to even make the finals or have been at any point during the year.

I'll keep watching and hopefully Benji gives us some magic plays and some wins prior to the year ending.

I hope he is dropped along with Anasta. Punishment for the shit served cold yesterday.
Please Potter, make him fire up with a fortnight in the reserves. Devalue his future.

You are a bitter, sad little man. Unless you only started supporting the Tigers this year, then you should try and remember all the good things Benji has done for this club. Yes he's finished as a froce for us, but that statement is just vindictive.

I'm not picking on one poster but there are some pieces of shit human beings on here. Benji has been fantastic for us. He is really trying his guts out and hasn't even been that bad.

Some peeps need to get some perspective on life.

Who cares if he has been great for us in the past. I want to win and be in finals football.
Not a Benji boys club for mates being shit right until the very end.
If that makes me a piece of shit so be it.

Im scared he has a 'conditional' release and nobody will sign him and we will be stuck with him. Will sleep better when someone is silly enough to sign him. Wish he was just given a full release. Who gives a f**k if he plays for another team against us.

I think he will end up in Super league.
Wife will enjoy the London scene and he can claim a huge salary based on reputation.

show some class about the whole situation
If he had any class 'based on his on field performances' he would:

* show some class and offer to stand himself down and let the next generation have a go,
(OK realise we most likely can't give the next generation a go based on the cap)

* show some class and offer to play 7 and let Sironen take over the running of the backs,

AND/OR
* show some class and put put your body on the line for the rest of the year,
* show some class and look interested, after all, you a contracted player,
