I've killed at least a dozen posters on this forum who have said sh*t about me.

Do you see me in jail?

No.

didnt benji bash another bloke a couple years back after a verbal stoush up the coast?

Seems he has a bit of an angry streak

Playing the race card is a great move though, should ensure he is seen as the victim in all this.

$10k fine and move on IMO, if need be the fine can be higher as a "face of the game" tax

this latest incident should put an end to the "face of league" concept and perhaps a new part of the anatomy can take it's place ...

the "buttocks of league" ... with the natural initial flag bearer being ...

There was no stand-out "face of the game" in the 2011 ad.

It's just a media beat up this "face of the game" crap.

It doesn't matter if he featured prominently in the ad or not he has become the "face of the game" within the last 5 days and was used to soften the blow of the Carney incident and all it did was set Benji and the NRL up for a big fall which has happened only days later.

If they need to have somebody walk up and make some bullsh*t speech to launch the season then the NRL have super-safe options in Petero Civoniceva, Nathan Hindmarsh, Braith Anasta, Ben Hornby, Andrew Ryan, Wayne Bennett; there's no need to burden the young stars any more than they are.

I support the fact he was standing up for his racial beliefs but you don't engage drunk toolboxes at 3am.

Just be the bigger man and move on

Easier said than done i imagine in the face of ''eight to ten'' protaganists looking for trouble.

That would be one short speech.

Lol @ those that say it's a "nothing" incident and he did nothing wrong. If the whole incident went down just as reported, yes the bloke probably deserved a smack in the gob and copped his right whack but the fact is and the law is that you just can't go around smacking blokes the mouth. Especially from someone who came out and said only a couple of days ago "
"My role is to do the best I can for the club and away from the game, represent the game as best as I can, and to be a great role model for kids.
"I want to be the player kids want to be when they grow up. This is not going to change the way I present myself or act. "I love being a role model for the kids and I love being around the kids. I love the kids going out practising flick passes and kicks."

Of course it'd be f**king hard to just walk away after copping sh*t but given his status in the game and being a self professed role model he should've.

It's not illegal to say something rascist, and even if it were it cannot really be proven. It is illegal to deck someone though, whether verbally provoked or not and the result of a cut lip is evidence it happened.

Doesn't it depend if it was said with malice?

The cut lip is obviously evidence that the man attacked Benji and just ran into Benjis fists as Benji was trying to protect himself.

tax

I know the bloke personally who was involved in this particular incident. It was a set up for cash, his best mate was ready with the camera.

Not the first time he/they have tried it by the way..

Oh and the Herald reported it was 8-10 people. How many of the people here would run away if 8-10 people were racially insulting you and probably wouldn't be scared to hit you.

Haha is this serious? 8-10 people want to fight you, so the smart thing to is to hit one? Not run away? Cmon man. I know you're a wests supporter, but this is the stupidest in this thread.

Every time a player becomes Rugby League front poster, he somehow manages to get into trouble, makes you want to start wearing a tin foil hat! :sarcasm:

Or in the case of David Hookes, get knocked off your feet and crack your skull on the pavement killing you.
