Ron Jeremy said::| Now Eelementary, i'll just sit you here and give you a little nursery ryhme. Long long time ago in a far far land, there use to be bands that singers who could hit every note possible, gutarists that could sweep pick, dive bomb, harmonic tap etc...then a evil presence called "Grunge" came along, and feed everyone with false hope by enforcing the use of simplicty to become a success. Straight away people couldn't believe such a thing, "could this be true" from the voice of a long hair pot smoker, unfortunately Little 18 year old Nikki had aspirations of becoming a groupie, how do you think she felt when she was told, " i hate too break it too you Nikki, but......there is no such thing as 'rockstars' anymore", Nikki lashed out..and understandibly became emotional, from that point on Nikki wasn't the same, confused, upset etc.....she went down the lonely path of teenage girl bands, and later ended up dating coverband singers.
As Grunge became more apparent, Rockstars rode off into the sunset, with there guitarists stretched across there backs, the lead singers cut there hair and became schhol teachers, and the drummers...well they lived to fight another day, thats before they had to replace the beautiful 17 piece, double base drum drum set...with a 5 piece red monstrosity...they had to aswell....learn how it's like to play simple and conform to these styles, whilst not enjoying it they had no other choice.
After Grunge went down the hill, many rockstars crossed the mountains back to LA, hoping that there punishment for being succesful and talented had worn off, unfortunately it got worse, rap.
Rap was the new thing, and all those simplistic, long haired pot heads no longer had grunge to aspire too, they were introuduced to the like of KORN etc.lead singers were in tears, now you didn't need a voice, all you had to do wa talk into a microphone and were rewarded.
Now whilst talented musicians make a living out of selling out local pubs with covers, genres like rap and nu-metal are making in roads into the music market....a John Lennon said "Instant Karma is going to get you" well?, lets hope that philosophy comes true and talented musicians can come back and dominate the air waves, where personalites, arena stadiums, guitar solos, drum solos are the norm..lets just pray that comes true.
Now off to bed sunshine, and i'll put some Guns n' Roses to make you fall asleep;-)

I don't actually like Gunners...:?
I just like stuff with a good, heavy guitar riff.
And the bands I mentioned aren't nu-metal...Are they?
f**k, I hate the system of classifying music genres these days. It's too complicated.
It should go: rock----punk/emo----metal, with each getting progressively heavier.
BTW, don't you just hate all these generic rock bands these days? The Killers sounds like End Of Fashion who sound like Brittney Spears who sounds like Leo Sayer.
