Hiku hasn't had one game above average this year. He has to go. I hope we can ship him early. With Peachey in the side there is no need for him on the bench even with Mansour returning.

TMM had a really good game in reggies last week. Surely if he isn't in first grade against the Dogs he is gone. Which means we have to move Moylan immediately.

Moylan/Edwards, Mansour, Whare, Blake, DWZ, Martin/Moylan, Cleary, RCG, Rein, Tamou, Yeo, CHN, Merrin, Kikau, Latu, JFH, Peachey (prefer him starting on the bench to relieve Rein)

You can see what Griffin's trying to do. He's trying to get Moylan to cover two positions so we can have an extra forward. It will be a masterstroke if it works but so far not so good.

Sounds iffy at best. Has anyone ever tried it and been successful?

I expect Griffin to pick the following if TMM is still on the nose.

1 Moylan
2 Mansour
3 Blake
4 Whare
5 DWZ
6 Peach

9 Rein

14 Hiku

He won't move Moylan I don't see him ever doing so. Plus he will find a way to keep Hiku in the 17.

That'll be disastrous.

Moylan will never see the ball with peach at 5/8.

Therefore it's a lock.

Hiku is needed in that side. Mansour may only last 10 mins for all we know

You don't think Smith could play in the halves?

He probably could. That wasn't what I was getting at though. The first big difference is Melbourne is an incredibly well drilled team, their attack is very structured and slick, the complete opposite of us.

Another difference is Smith just plays as a hooker who leads and directs the team around, he is not trying to play 2 positions. When Moylan is getting on the ball in attack we completely miss having a FB, when he isn't getting on the ball cartwright is, and he is f**king up as often as not.

And just generally speaking Melbourne is better coached with established stars(some of the greatest to ever play) in all their key roles. We are poorly coached with a kid playing halfback and Cartwright playing 5/8 throwing forward passes and intercepts every week. There are a lot of things that work for Melbourne that would never work with out current setup. That being said I don't think what we are trying is similar to how Melbourne play at all.

No matter how you look at it having Carty play in the halves is dumb. He is not suited to the role and Moylan is. We have two good young FBs who could be playing FG. At least when we had TMM you could justify having Moylan at FB, but you cannot justify it with Carty playing in the halves imo.

So those 20 odd games that Tohu Harris played 5/8th for Storm. Smith didn't play as a half aswell as hooker?

No Dallen goes FB. Whare to the wing and Moylan defends in the line if needed. So hardly leaving as short a Fullback

Bullshit, that has happened once after Cartwright and Wallace went off injured. If you think our style of play is comparable to Melbourne you are kidding yourself, we play nothing like them. Tohu Harris was a stop gap paired with one of if not the best controlling halfback in the game for one of the most structured and well coached teams in the comp. The situations aren't similar at all.

And I guarantee that if Harris made the same mistakes and dumb plays that cartwright regularly makes Bellamy would have him out of the halves real quick.

Just got on my phone. Betcats has made the point.

In attack we have Moylan playing 5/8, Cleary as halfback, Cartwright as a ball playing forward. Kind of reminds me of a lock forward and no fullback. In defence they go to their positions as per the number on their back excluding the rare occurrence of DWZ at FB and Moylan in the line but I've only seen it once.
