Lol, I was in Perth, I had already checked from my hotel and finished my work stuff at 2pm but my flight wasn't until mignight, so I went over a friend's place and she put it on, pretty hard to avoid watching it.

One of her mates had come over earlier and was smoking a bong, should have joined him when he offered, might have made watching the movie less disturbing, or more disturbing who knows.

haha, getting baked would have almost certainly given you the fear. i had some sketchy moments during the film, and i'm a seasoned veteran.

Haha, yeah, seeing as I couldn't sleep on the flight, I reckon I would have been so f**ked up going into work the next morning. Could have been a very memorable day in the office though.

He's put in some decent performances, but he never really makes you think, "wow, what a great performance." He was hilarious in The Departed and he killed Damon's character and he deserved an award for that. He's adequate without being great though.

What was better then the old and new school combination of Day-Lewis and Di Caprio in Gangs Of New York.

f**k I love that movie. But anything with either two in it is generally excellent.

Dicaprio, Everything.
Michael Fassbender, Shame, Inglorious Basterds and Xmen.
Early Di Niro
Pacino up until and including Heat
Daniel Day Lewis, There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York.
JGL, Brick and Mysterious Skin.
Gosling, awesome in Blue Valentine.
Christian Bale, in the machinist especially.
Andrew Garfield was great in Boy A and good in the Social Network.

Just off the top of my head. I'm sure i'll think of more later though.

yeah, i've read he's a pretty serious method actor. gets right into his roles. it certainly showed... it was an excellent performance. when contrasted against the relatively poor acting from his support (fortunately the 2 female leads are... muted... for at least half the film) his performance stands out even further imo.

i wasn't forced to watch it so much as a mate chucked it on, and i hadn't heard of it. i haven't done a second viewing, which is extremely rare for me and film. i haven't grown the balls to watch the sequel yet, but i do intend to. i don't think you can ignore it once you've seen the first... certainly not if you're as deranged as i.

The girls were asked to be stupid scared girls, coupled with a shitty script and ridiculous concept that turned out just boring, I don't fault the actors for any performances in the film, don't know how anybody playing the centipede could turn in a 'good' performance to be honest.

'Sif, the Asian dude showed so much remorse when he shitted in the chicks' mouth.:sarcasm:

Seriously, though I agree with you, the plot line was so stupid and ffs they were wearing diapesr, pretty hard to figure out how to get into character.

It's the same performance every time from him he has zero range.

Honestly just one of the majority of lead actors that are paid millions for star power. I don't mind watching them but most put in a performance that anyone could do and no way do they deserve the power, money and influence they gain.
